Technics ST-G30E-S music server and ripper, anyone have any experience

Been looking at this server/ ripper which would tick a couple of boxes for me, just wondered if anyone has have experience good or bad.

I looked at that one a while back and thought nah, I'm sure you could do better for less in fact the Innuos for sale on here would be a better buy at half the price ;)

I've not heard one but if I was inthe market it would be on my list. I'm a dedicated Pi man though so neither really interest me as I rip all my CDs to my NAS drive and run the via a Pi setup, the reason I mentioned the Innuos is that the sofware can do more than the Techie can, but might be an idea to check if still updating software on the Innuos that's for sale.

I noticed that this model was now discontinued, as you have suggested will check and see if updates are still ongoing. I have been looking for something for awhile now, was looking at a NAS originally but have changed my mind on that route. Ideally looking for a simple idiot proof, ripper/server/streamer.

I recently sold an Innuos Zen MK1 which had the latest Innuos operating system installed and the upgrades were regular from Innuos the latest upgrade is on the Innuous website and that was the one that was running on my Zen.

The innous Zen on here with the PSU is a brilliant buy, it's the Zen mini mk1 I think as opposed to the Zen Mk1 that I had but these are brilliant things and simple to use basically you fire a CD into the Zen and does it stuff then you can access/play the files.

I used Ipeng on an iPhone & MacBook Pro but there's Android Apps that do the same thing.

I only sold it because it really wasn't being used enough as I mainly listen to radio.

BTW, I sold my Zen earlier this month for £400 delivered however there was a SH one for sale on ebay at the same time for £600.

Actually thinking about it, when I sold mine, I searched Ebay sold sales and, I think, a Mk1 Zen with a Linear PSU sold for about £800 back in January and someone was selling the Innous PSU for £450.

Just need to think about a Dac, my Arcam CDS50 has a built in Dac, but currently don’t have separate Dac other than Audioquest dragonfly red.

I just streamed from the Innous Zen to my amp Robin which is a Yamaha receiver with a built in Sabre Dac and it sounded fine to me.

Unfortunately my Primare amp doesn’t have a built in Dac.
