I'm looking at some floorstanders and I'm interested in a pair of Edingdale mk1s.

Does anyone have any experience of these?
What is the relationship between Edingdale and MCRU no127 speakers?

I'm also considering Impulse H2s and Castle Knights. It's hard to narrow down what to consider let alone buy in these circumstances. Any opinions?

A friend of mine has a good pair of Impulse H2's he was thinking of selling having purchased some Tannoys, I can put you in touch if you are interested?

I have had H2's myself and they are a very good musical speaker with great bass, depth and control, also easy to place in a room, and very efficient so easy to drive.

The MCRU No.127 are the Edingdale with a rear tweeter.
I asked the other week, as I was contemplating the black pair advertised.

I asked MCRU by e-mail.
The thing that most people do when they have a query with a product.

Good advice. I was asking on here as well as emailing MCRU. Pity you could not help.

Sorry Richard, overflow from another thread.
I was tempted by the No.127 but ended up with something French instead.

I got it - the Michell VTA thread. No apology required. I also got short shrift when I gave the exact measurement required. cheers

Had a pair of the Eddingdale Mk1's myself - extremely good speaker.
Interestingly enough replaced by a set of Impulse H2's, which (to me) are quite a bit better.

But the Eddingdales are stonking sounding things, just that the H2's are a completely different design of speaker and are better with my kit and preferences.

Buy both with confidence.

I'll just have to wait until a pair come up for sale. I know about the MCRU pair but I'm not 100% confident they are the same thing. Impulse are also hard to find so I'm in for a wait whatever I decide!

The MCRU no.127 got a 5 star review in HiFi World.

I have sent you another PM with details. My friend said he had not heard from you so I thought you may not have checked your Inbox, hence this post.

Well it may be his loss, by weird coincidence another chap on AoS contacted me yesterday about the H2's I used to own, now sold, and I put him in touch with my friend this morning. He has already contacted my friend by email, asking for photos and some details.:)

Try removing an "o" from that email address.

what do you mean 'there is no helping some folk'? less of the pejorative tone eh?

I'm currently volunteering for an NHS trust in mid Wales trying to sort out their admissions system - sorry I was busy. It won't happen again

Thanks for the email Adrian
