As im certain to be using a Rega arm for the turntable as i cannot think of another 10" arm without spending more than i plan, i will need a J.A.Michell VTA adjustment collar because the arm board i plan buying is thinner than the original & i do not want to be shimming the arm up. The question is does anyone have one of these that can tell me what size mounting hole is required for it to fit? Im just trying to move things on a bit ordering the board before the collar arrives as the board seller needs to know.
Depending on which VTA adjuster you get, you may need to allow for the base thickness of 2mm.

The one for the RB250/300. Mounting hole for the VTA adjustment Collar
Andre,
You said you weren’t gonna go here Amigo...
My £0.02 worth, just buy a Michell Technoarm, get it rewired by J7 and call it done?
You’ll constantly be chasing upgrades on a basic Rega.
From experience, without spending silly money if your fixed on a Rega arm this combo is as good as it gets.

This is a good option. Fits normal regardless mounting hole.

It does say hole may need widening to fit the adjuster. How tight a fit is your arm in the hole you have now (oooh matron), and give an extra 3mm diameter extra.

Go where Gaz! I have to use a VTA Adjuster.. For one no arm of mine goes anywhere, i do everything myself, Its perfectly how i want it that way,
Sadly Money is also an issue so the Techno arm is out. It will be a 2nd Hand 'RB300' which for one ill be struggling to find the money for when ive actually found one without anyone taking the piss.. so it maybe a good year before this deck gets up & running..

I have an old original 1979 Planar 3 with R200 - the bias belt had gone
I fitted an RB300. It needed a shim despite everyone telling me it didn't
So I fitted a VTA adjuster. I had to dremel out the top half of the original hole. I measured the hole when I had finished. 27mm springs to mind but I cannot be arsed to remove the arm now and check.
Why not just ask the seller what the normal hole size is and add 3 or 4mm? I think the normal Rega arm mount size is 24mm - yes I remembered correctly

If it is this one it might help https://www.vinylvinyl.nl/rega-easy-riser.html, by the way I think understand what you are asking.
If it is this one https://www.analogueseduction.net/michell-engineering-upgrades-parts-accessories/michell-engineering-rega-3-point-vta-adjuster.html then it's not clear what the hole size needs to be.

So it says "the increased diameter of the VTA sleeve (approx 1 1/8”)." which is 3.175mm so if you added 3.5 mm to the diameter of the VTA sleeve you should have a lsliding fit.
By the way what TT are you fitting this to the advert states "Weight: 1.00 LBS" which seems like a hell of a lot?

Thats what i mean Adrian the words 'Approx' i have to give the arm board company the size so i was kinda wanting a precise size. But like i say its best waiting. The weight spec is a typo because the accompanying finger locking nuts is a lot larger & said to be lighter than the RB300 original fixing nut.. They are going on a Systemdek 'IIX' all the same..

This one is like Brand new. Not a single mark on it..
This Guy is doing me the Arm board

Already have a new Goldring 'E3' Cart.
The deck is for nothing but 12" singles. Because i sold all my LP's & getting them back in mint condition would be an impossibility, the cost would be far too high anyway hence im stuck with Files for my albums ripped from CD...Or i might just be a prat & record them all to Audio Cassette & Dump Digital altogether.
Ill be looking for the matching Electronic power supply at some point.

Ooh, an AT VM-95 in a pretty frock.
As for what size hole you need, contact the manufacturer and ask them. That is what most people would do.

Like I said above - 24mm plus 3mm = 27mm
