Hi everyone,just joined,real world name is Phil,live in Northern Ireland and my musical taste varies from reggae and funk to jazz to bands like Genesis and Yes but my musical hero is Frank Zappa,from that lot you can probably gather that I`m not in the first flush of youth:lolsign:cool:

Yes,Stilgar is a character from Dune,which happens to be my favourite book,now don`t get me started about the film............

Hha! I thought I recognised it! I have the collectoors edition DVD or something like that. Dune is a bit twee for me though I prefer the likes of The Day the Earth stood still (the origional not the crappy remake with keauno) and THX 1138 as well of course as Blade Runner and Forbidden Planet (again, the original with the rather attractive Anne Francis. And the first all electronic score, and the biggest film set until then and Leslie Nielson and Walter Pidgeon.....)

Hi Phil - we are blessed with a few Zappa fans who will no doubt be along to say hi too. I maybe need to try again, 'cos I don't get him, but then it would be a sorry old world if we all liked exactly the same things, wouldn't it? Have fun, play safe!

Just getting in to Zappa myself, got myself 3 albums recommended by a mate, they just grow on you, my 18 yr old son asked what I had on and went and downloaded them.Let me know if you want the titles.
