Tuner advice please

Hi,
I have come across a tuner I like the look of are there any tuner buffs who can comment on the specs

It’s a Blaupunkt T-150

Does this look like it’s any good and worth going for ?

If it's Blaupunkt it's not going to be shabby. Specs look very respectable.

Tuner Info Centre has nothing on it. I dont know. If black is ok, buy a kenwood 3050 or 5020, can be got for about £100 ish, maybe less. Stunning sounding. In the top ten best tuners.

There has been an extensive discussion on another forum about FM sound quality, and the consensus is that many tuners far exceed the inherent problems of FM technically.

Alan Shaw asserted that distortion inherent in FM can be up to 10%, so usually specs of tuners are much better than that, and this leaves you open to choosing on factors other than SQ, visual, ergonomics etc.

Getting a NAT 01, Dynalab, or day Sequerra, which many have aspired to, is to me a pointless thing to do.

The rumoured abandonment of FM, which has been going on for years has partly resulted in the abundance of good second hand FM tuners, amidst other Hi-Fi components, the latter being because music has lost the primacy in people's lives that it had 50 years ago.

The only thing missing in your specs is capture ratio. Brown cct boards are little bit of a no-no, but you can always buy another if it fails for little money.

FM tuners really need to be listened to, as they all have different audio result. But high on my list of recommendations would be a Marantz ST6000, it just does everything right
with audio presentation. But if your eye is on the Blaupunkt T-150 alone, listen to it first. Another good sounding tuner is the Quad FM3

Thanks for the advice about listening to it. Unfortunately it’s in Germany.
I will look up all the other recommendations from everyone thanks

You already have a superb tuner with the CT1010.

The CT1010 is certainly a good tuner, must get mine connected in again to compare to the Marantz ST6000
