So how much longer do people have to wait for tests? Its the single thing that is getting my back up. Stuck at home not knowing if i have it or not. Wife working on front line at the hospital coming home to me every night. Utterly stinks if you ask me.

On a serious note, I have no idea. I think that there are a limited number available, and you won’t get tested until you start showing symptoms.
Your Mrs should be tested before you though.

Keeping yourself warm will help keep your immune system strong, so put them shorts back in the wardrobe - I know what you posties are like! The exception being my postie, she really suits them :)

Anyone managed to catch CV-19 yet ? Or actually know someone with a confirmed case.
I live in a small community (not a commune) ;) of more mature people from about 50 to a 100 years old, and the youngest one has it and has been hospitalised but so far she is the only one out of the 60 of us that live here. Apparently she is now quite bad, but that may be because of the sepsis she has picked up in the hospital, as our local one has a bit of a reputation for hospital acquired infections.
How's everyone else doing?

:D Obviously she doesn't look as good as you in yours, but any port in a storm :) We're vey well Alan, just trying to keep busy with gardening/painting/Scrabble/quizzes, oh and music I haven't got round to playing yet. Some nice surprises from Sarah McLachlan, Gregory Porter Agnes Obel and Beck. Shame Kegworth didn't happen, I had one or two questions (and a nice bottle of wine) which will now wait till later this year (fingers crossed)
Hope you and Shirley are holding up well, I know you'll have some nice garden and electrical doodahs to keep you busy :)

Nightmare, mate. Hopefully not, but even if you do you're most likely just to experience light flu symptoms [like Gaz had], and Boris! It's really important to take plenty of hot drinks and also boost your vitamin C. Have you got any fresh orange juice? If so, drink plenty!
Hopefully one of your neighbours can get you some food, but of course there are still the delivery companies. Anyway, keep us posted on how you are.

We dont know do we cos there is no ferking tests. So basically life ends for months on end. Ive had headache & snotty nose for nearly a weak, but like i say how the hell do we know.
Don't feel too bad actually. I've had the flu and its nothing like that. As long as it doesn't get any worse then it's not really a problem.
Don't know how I caught it as I thought I'd been pretty careful. I didn't even leave the house yesterday so must have been before that.

Yes, there's just no way of knowing is there? I reckon I must have it as I've not had this 'tight chest' thing since I was a young child and I've had the flu and dozens of colds since.

I have had tight chests in previous years - to be avoided at all costs. However, I think it doesn't automatically follow that if you have those symptoms you have CV 19. Now we are told that some people only have mild symptoms, or even no symptoms at all.
Without a reliable test (say at least at the 95% level) it's going to be hard to figure this out. What about a runny nose, or sneezing, which could be due to allergies?
Re the postie bringing in the tests and/or test results - when and if they are available - the postie also has to be virus free - or immune and not a carrier.
I'm even getting suspicious of Amazon (and other) boxes now - but allegedly the CV thing doesn't survive more than 24 hours on carboard. Some people think it's safe enough to open the boxes on a table, then dispose of the boxes immediately, wash their hands, and then clean the table, then presumably wash their hands again. I'm starting to adopt a "leave the box or packet for a day in a hall area" approach.

Went to the corner shop Friday morning. That was my last close contact with anyone - and it wasn't that close. No sneezing or runny nose. Just slight temperature and tight chest. Felt 100% when I went to bed last night. I was still going into work last week, finished on Wednesday (although there were only two of us in on Wednesday). So could easily have got it there and I'm only now showing symptoms.
Agree it may well not be the dreaded lurgy. No way to be sure without a test. I won't be bothering anyone unless it gets a lot worse. Right now just feel a bit off-colour.

We've been pretty much isolated for weeks now - hardly any contact with anyone close up, though we didn't think we had the thing. Just get food dropped in and Amazon parcels, and swap food with the neighbour - but do the handover with plastic bags left in the drive. The last close contact with anyone we had from anyone outside was I think 3 weeks ago, though I'd have to check.
People who've been to work recently might still have picked it - or something else - up.

yup ive been quarentining everything i can that comes in for 24/48 hrs. if i have to touch then i handle it like a bomb the wash 3 times...lol
According to the Times yesterday, NHS staff testing will start next week. It will begin with critical care staff and gradually work through to social care and other key workers.
I agree it would be nice to know - my eldest daughter is an occupational therapist and has not been to work for the last week, bit of a temperature for a day then feeling completely worn out/sleeping lots for two days - but there is no point stamping your pretty little feet and demanding tests now, "it is what it is".
Anyway there seems to be a 10% chance of getting an incorrect result.
Having spent the last week and a bit "isolating" as a family (been rather good actually :)) we are hoping that once our daughter is tested we will all have a better idea of where we stand.
I had a fever for a couple of days, aches like I have never experienced and difficulty breathing but that was over Christmas (had to go back to bed Christmas Day afternoon) but not sure whether that could have been this Corona.

Mate, the 'important' people like the PM and prince Charles have been tested, they have it, basically anyone tested has it, that tells you something about how far this spread. Pretty sure I've had it, its been and gone, wasn't much at all for me. Like you though I hope the tests are released asap so we can go back to work. Heard on radio yesterday that the tests are as yet very unreliable, so, we're gonna have to wait I'm afraid until they come up with an accurate enough test.
Re my post above about my neighbour who was taken into hospital with it, early 50's with no Commodities, just heard she died this morning.
Not known if it was the CV-19 or something she picked up in the Hospital after admittance that finished her off.
Be careful and take the advice given seriously.

This is not a time to pick up an ailment and go to hospital. If you are then also hit with CV-19 you are in deep trouble.
In Denmark which has been in lockdown for a little over two weeks, it seems that we have broken the exponential curve of hospitalisations and intensive care + ventilation cases. We are placed in lockdown until April 13. Testing here has been sporadic too so the only figures that are reliable are the hospitalised cases and the number of deaths. Unexpected bonuses from the lock-down have been a 70% decrease in flu cases and a 50% decrease in child hospitalisations because of infections. Home violence is on the rise however.

Every cloud I suppose. Shame that it will be temporary as none of the measures bringing this about could be sustained, we are far too crowded in UK.
An Increase in domestic violence is to be expected, but hopefully the victims will be able to deal with this in their own way, then just leave the bodies on the doorstep for collection. I imagine a lot of other criminal activity will be disrupted by our circumstances - burglaries, car crime, the sale of drugs and their transportation across borders, shoplifting(!), they must all be feeling the pinch. I feel so sorry for them.
Not forgetting the cancelling of the annual crossdressing convention in Croston, which must've been devastating for you.

Haven't bothered with that one for years, not since Mrs. P wrote off our new car in the floods there back in 2012. Freckleton's FrockFest is a worthy alternative though - it's proximity to Blackpool ensures a good turnout (sorry enrae8, didn't recognise you in that outfit) :)
