Sorry if not the right place..

I remember a few months ago someone recommended a reliable and professional delivery service. Can anyone remind me of them please? Or recommend another one?

If you do a search for 'delivery of fine arts', something like that, you'll find companies who deliver such valuable items to collectors, dealers and museums etc. I have not used one myself, but here's one that I just found:

That's for the suggestions but it was a specialist company that worked for some of the high end retailers and had experience of bespoke delivery of high value Hifi items.

I'd stored this away for same reason, but now it doesn't register. Try asking on Wam?

HiFi Hangar, not far from Winchester in a place called Bordon, use a guy based somewhere in the Guildford region.
I've seen first-hand their excellent packaging and handling when I've bought from their store - I had a tour from the owner - and as with everything they do I'd thoroughly recommend them, so I'd ask them. They may even have his contact details on their website, I can't remember now.

I understand that you're looking for a specific company, but the general point is your hifi item is a delicate, 'in need of careful handling', expensive item. Carriers of - for want of a better term - 'fine arts' are about as good as it gets to cover that criteria. They can pack and deliver awkwardly shaped, very delicate items and deliver them unbroken, their livelihood depends on it.

Thanks guys I think I'm sorted a mate off the Wam has said he'll get them for me. Agree with everything said above, I'm sure there was a carrier discussed on here that specialised in Hifi, maybe it was on another forum.

I found a guy on Shiply who has moved loudspeakers for me a couple of times. One was from The Netherlands to Scotland. He doesn’t pack anything, so that’s on you, but did have some heavy blankets to wrap one of the pairs in. He is a sound guy and I will use him again when I come to sell some Ditton 44s later in the year.

I haven't used them myself but this outfit was recommended to me by Jamie on PFM (whom I bought a T/T from) specifically for Hi-FI shipping.

I want to find someone you can speak to who's actually delivering the goods himself. Shiply seems pretty good actually, once you've separated the wheat from the chaff.

Yeah, beware the bargain basement outfits in there who bid for everything. If you are patient the best outfits usually make themselves known.

I have found someone who is great. He delivered my Amphion speakers (85kg each) today without a hitch, he was very careful, he wrapped them well in bubble wrap and blankets and strapped to the side of his van which was not full up. He also charged a very fair price (so I gave him a little bonus for his time and service).

His name's Tony and he has a webpage look for Willows Removals In Leeds. His number is 07939691170

Edit, website here

As he picked them up from me I can vouch for his attitude towards handling and securing items. He is a one man band and it's in his interest to do a good job, he was saying a lot of his work is from word of mouth. I would use him in the future.
