View Full Version : Yamaha parts supplier in the UK needed
Hi all
My Yamaha AX-592 is in need of a part, anyone know of a UK supplier I could get parts for this old model from.
It's in need of the mode selector switch, which work fine manual mode but miss selects and hunts about using the remote.
Thanks for any links to an UK suppliers, or EU or USA at a push.
Thanks
Paul

Do you mean the input selector switch?
I would hazard a guess that parts won't be available for old models. Does it feel as if the switch has lost its mechanical ident?
Often I have taken switches out and dissembled and repaired them, but it can be fiddly and time consuming.
Yep, its the input selector switch which works fine as a selector but as it's also motor driven to a low remote control operation and because of wear or dirt it does not always find the correct position, it just hunts around, sometime eventually stopping on the correct place but mostly not.
I suppose I just need to bite the bullet and try and strip it down, but if it fails to go back for some reason then the Amp will be junk, hence why I was trying to locate a replacement, that way I could fix the Amp then try to fix the switch at my pleasure.
A pointless feature in reality, but still nice to have fully working amp. Apparently it's a well known issue with these AMPS and at least it's not like some that suddenly start switching on their own, at the moment.
There is a video on YouTube with someone talking about their way to fix them, I say talking as he forgot to make sure the switch was actually in shot, but it sounds to be doable if I am forced to try and fix it.
Thanks
Paul
