Whats in yours ? and what do you enjoy about it
Mine is a Marantz 2230B receiver and Celestion Ditton 10's , so FM radio presently.

I enjoy it for news broadcasts and classical music or jazz on another channel, its great for
organizing breakfast lunch and dinner with.

Used to have a Bose Wave many years ago. Good enough for the job!

Pure Siesta alarm clock dab. Low profile so fits nicely between the microwave and top cupboards, as space is at a premium in our kitchen.

Ideally I'd like a low profile dab/Bluetooth speaker with a bit more power than the Siesta if anyone knows of one? Max height 2".

Echo Dot and Cambridge Audio Minx Go. Good enough for me :)

RPi 3A+ running piCoreplayer
IQAudIO DigiAMP
Eltax Monitor 3's
(LMS running on an RPi4)

Hidden in the ceiling beams, running off a 24v powerbrick. Terrific ease of use via phone app or laptop/PC, can access all my music on the server, UK radio stations, Radio Paradise etc. Wife's iPhone can cast whatever she is listening to/watching on youtube etc.

Used to have a kitchen system but these days I just crank up the main system so I can hear it in there (who needs Sonos).

Amazon Echo Dot mounted on the plug socket. Perfect for my needs, and hands-free is great in the kitchen.

Rega Kyte, Naim Nait 3 and Denon TU260L (mainly, very occasional use of Arcam alpha 7 CD player as source).

30' Kitchen/diner, great for having a boogie to the radio when I am cooking. Although radio 2 is variable in output :steam: to say the least.

I keep meaning to set up a Raspberry pi to gain access to some decent broadcasts.

That's the idea, dance with the music and your omelette being created to perfection :)

CHeating somewhat....my kitchen is at one end of a 35 foot split level open plan area. The Leak 3090s play nicely here.
But I am reminded that I used to tell people that running my cafe was really an excuse to play my own (choice of) music all day!
One of my ladies told me I was the only boss she knew who danced while working!

(If you look at the cafe photo, you can see a pair of Heathkit speakers on top of the fridges!!)

A pair of Wharfedale DS2 powered speakers either side of my Smeg... :eyebrows: Pure DAB radio plugged in to the aux socket for Radio duties (these days I’m an old git listening to Radio Suffolk in the morning for sensible reasons like travel news etc.) and then an old Samsung Mobile via Bluetooth for streaming - Spotify, Tidal, and connecting to Logitech Media Server to play my ripped files. Oh, and an Amazon Echo Show 5 for setting timers, viewing the security camera etc.

Biggest problem is the room - nothing soft in there at all so lots of reflections but it sounds pretty good, especially in the sweet spot stirring a curry!

Onkyo CR315 all in one, Sony micro tape deck, Proac Super Tablets.

Does the job and the Proacs look better on the counter top.

I have a Sonos One - it's fine. It's certainly not Hi-Fi, but for a bit of noise while you're cooking it's surprisingly pleasant. The built in Alexa is handy for setting timers too ;)

thats so funny. They are components that some people could not afford to use in the main stereo..

Kitchen system is a bit of company for Mrs P while making me tea or washing up. A bit annoying though when she has it too loud and she can't hear me shouting for a cup of tea or to tell her there's someone knocking. Sometimes I have to get out of the chair to put in my request in person :(

Seems an obsession this shit. You keep a Radio in the kitchen & thats it.

Well my Echo Dot and bluetooth speaker is just that. Good enough for passive listening while doing our busy work :)

Uh. You think an audio system is normal in the Kitchen?

Each to their own. But I'll never have a Hi-Fi in the kitchen. Just doesn't feel right, imo.

What gave it away? Nah, I'm a 'new man' these days - when Anita was ill recently, I used to carry her downstairs every morning to make my breakfast. And I didn't have to be asked :)

I spend probably 3-4 hours a day in the kitchen, more at the weekends - what's wrong with wanting my music to sound good in there?

Hi Andre,
I consider my kitchen's system quite modest and enjoyable one:)
I really prefer to have music around me. On the other hand there are much more people which don't care about music and our HiFi passion seems extreme even with a very basic system. Which is normal because we are different. So everybody according his own needs and preferences. I'm quite addicted to tapes for example which a lot of people will not understand.
BR,
Ivo

I understand. I used to get a big kick out of Audio Cassettes, they are great but i do not bother anymore cos im getting very bone idle in my old age, or maybe the passion has died. It just all too much trouble & money for me.. the easy & cheapest way out will always win the day.. I feel that its better to spend money on music than spend the money you dont need to on Equipment. If it sounds good enough to convey enjoyment & emotion in music its truly good enough.
