For Sale: Topping TP20 mkII Tripath mini-amplifier.
Box. Manual. Power supply. Smoke free home.
Topping claim 20 Watts into 4 ohms, 12 Watts into 8 ohms.
I would be slightly less generous as distortion does start to rise at higher power levels. It remains under 0.03% for the first 5 Watts so I would say this is a very clean, low distortion, musical and transparent amp for the first 5 Watts into 8 ohms (9 Watts into 4 ohms). Great for relatively efficient speakers. Surprising how far 5 Watts goes even with regular sub 90dB speakers.
The Tripath TA2020 amp chip is somewhat legendary as one of the best sounding of this type of amp and Topping have implemented it well here. There are some nice components inside - metal film resistors and film capacitors including Dale and EVOX. Terminals and the PCB itself are all gold-plated. High quality muting relays are fitted so no on or off thumps. I won't be too bothered if this one goes back in the cupboard for a rainy day.
