Hi everyone!

My name is Janne and I'm a student from Finland. I'm pretty much new to "the world of hifi". A few months ago I bought my first decent headphones (AKG K601) and a good computer sound card (Auzentech Bravura with a dedicated headphone amplifier). A few days ago I got a pair of Genelec 6010A active loudspeakers. I found this forum when I was searching for info on Beresford DACs this week :)

So, I like all kinds of music, mainly heavy/symphonic metal but also electronic, pop, classical etc. Actually anything goes as long as I don't hate it and it sounds good. Massive Attack is awesome :eek:

Currently I have two systems. My AKGs are hooked up to my computer, I use this system when I don't want to disturb anyone and/or want to listen to FLAC files. My other system is my Genelec speakers connected to my ipod (sometimes I connect them to a cheap and old cd player). I know, not very impressive systems, but they're ok and affordable :)

Hi Janne, You Finns sure do have a good progressive / symphonic metal scene - and a few more odd folk-metal outfits! I've come across Finntroll in my travels and some of their stuff is great :)

Another welcome from me - plenty of Massive Attack fans here I imagine, myself included.

I think for value for money you can't beat headphones, if primarily you are the only listener - I can definitely see myself expanding in this area (I don't mean my ears will get bigger, but who knows?!)

My wife's auntie works in an old peoples home, and she told me that other "appendages" also grow - the irony there being that everything else has disintegrated and so you can't do much with it! :lol:
