Volume drop with Humax box

Didnt know where to put this thread as its AV related i suppose, so im trying here.
The volume on my Humax freeview, which i use for Tv and tuner duties, has suddenly dropped significantly to the point i have to turn thr volume up from the usual 9 0clock position to 12 to get decent gain. The attenuation appears to be less sensitive also and i have to turn the volume pot in larger steps to get increased volume. The integrated i play everything through behaves as normal when i switch CD or Turntable modes.
Any idea what might be going on?

Thats wierd as i bought a Samsung TV & DVD for the bedroom. I looked through all the settings on menu nothing to sort the volume out, TV is at a good level around 25 mark, the DVD i have to turn the volume upto 80, if the wife nods off & DVD mode switches off we get blasted out as it defaults to TV viewing...So i've pretty much got a Volume problem aswell.

No. DVd player is normal i think, at about 8 oclock. A £ 30 philips special im ashamed to say.
Id never be allowed on the What Hi FI forum.

All i can try is a booster on the DVD SCART only, can't think what you could do Colin

The thing thats bugging me is why just now! Ill have a fidell with it over the weekend. Baffles me though.

Perhaps to check the connection-cables on Humax.Especially if you use SCART.Just a thought.

I only use scart for vision but thanks ill check my rca cables in the tomorrow.

It sounds like he as just done a reset,it allways sets the volume down.

I am not sure either Hamish, i only know that every time i do a reset the volume halves but then again i am running scart to tv might be a coincidence,
but we wont know till he comes back on line.

Sorry didnt notice the responces to my thread. I checked the rca connections and they were fine but you are absolutly correct, i have done a reset because of a software update that appeared. Ive got better reception visually but limited volume.

On your remote control there is a up and down button for volume,its on the left side opposite the channel up and down button.
if you have any problems just ask.

You know i was such a bad sparky id strip something apart to fix it only to find the fuse in the plug needed replacing
