My favourite is Trio/Kenwood PC-400U which is like a Thorens TD124, only better built and better looking!

Had to look up that one. Can't be too many belt/idler hybrid TTs around.

Regarding cosmetics - well that is in the eye of the beholder. I prefer the Thorens 124/II. ;)

Victor SRP 467. Only ever seen one for sale in the UK
Tremendous looking turntables, Andre, which no doubt sound great. That Trio 3030 is trouser-tenting stuff!:eyebrows:
Any idea which cartridge is on the arm, which looks rather like an Ortofon? Maybe some form of SPU?:)
Marco.

Love the housing: plinth and lid, but don't like the 10" platter.

Obviously not Japanese but the Philips 'GA230' Ideler/Belt Decks was superb built, cast alloy & but was let down buy the short flimsy arm fitted.. You could not fit a cart & headshell other than the one made for that deck.. All that said they do sound good..

I doubt it was really made by Coral. The tonearm seems to be Micro MA-77 mkI, may be they made the whole TT for Coral?

PL-7 was very similar but with a 12" platter.
