The interesting thing is that when their systems get much better they realise that they have been chasing rainbows for years and spending a lot of money in so doing, and that the reality of the recordings is very different from their original ideas of them, now bare in all their faulty reality.

What gets me every time is shit some real batshit crazy audiophiles do in the name of imaginary "improvements".

When I was hunting for an SP10 mk2, I found one in nice condition locally, but I didn't buy it because the platter was epoxied to the motor! :stalks: The guy told me that gluing the platter "improved the sound drastically" compared to the original screws (using all kinds of flowery language: highs became higher, lows became lower, the veil was lifted etc.) Honestly, I wanted to punch him in the face for ruining a timeless piece of gear :steam:

lol - Dont worry too much Alex, apparently the 'phile' aspect, as the end part of a word, is used to specify some kind of attraction or affinity to something, lover of or enthusiastic for, so in yours and our case (hopefully), it's in regard to audio - you can relax now (and again, hopefully :eek:) :D

This might explain audiophiles' ugliness - people like you battering them :D
