Hi
Sorry ? Of course it outputs stereo. However if the audio is embedded in a 5.1 source (for example) you will need to feed the digital output into a DAC I assume.
However it is a HDMI 1.4 unit, so won't pass through 4K. For that you meed the '69' version, which costs around ten times this price !

Far as I know it down converts hi rez to cd, but otherwise is 16/44 compliant. good price for these.

AS I have had a couple of questions about this device I've spoken with Kramer to confirm that;

1) It does not downsample and passes through digital audio at the source's rate up to 24/192.
2) It does contain a DAC. When there is a separate stereo LPCM audio stream on a DVD it will output that as a digital OR analogue stereo stream.
3) It will not split an audio track from more than a two channel feed (e.g. 5.1 soundtrack) and pass this to an analogue output.
4) It will provide stereo through the digital output from a multi-channel source.
5) Bandwidth is limited to about 6.5Gb so it won't handle the 16Gb of 4k.

Hope this helps. Kramer are very helpful if you need more info.
