HMV 4000

I’m looking for any information about it. 4000A amplifer, 4000T tuner, cassette and record deck. I bought it from Ebej. One channel works only on the amplifier. Cassette deck needs belts and somebody disconnect some wires... I can’t find service manual anywhere. I have just basics manual books. Any information about who made it? Thanks

Let me have a look in my mancave. I have a HMV deck /amp cassette radio stack that I bought a few yrs ago . All the books and the advertising blurb too included with it but I think its a HMV 8000 , I am not sure -but they are the same I think !! Maybe a later model !!:)

I spent an age looking here and there and never found anything , but I suspect there must have been a need for one , at sometime !!

Thanks for your help. I was looking for it every where. I think that the service manual not exist anymore. Shall I contact the HMV? Any hope? If I don’t find it I’ll try to compare the good channel with the damage one. I don’t give up with hope :)

It was made by what became (or was ) the Thorn Group . They made Fidelity , HMV , bought out ADC , and there were one or 2 other names but I forget now.
All this in the early 70,s ,so your units are probably 1970 - 72 .
I think any relevance between nowadays creation and emergence of HMV , might mean that they dont have any connection to , or circuit diagrams ,to these any more?
But hey , you can try !!
