I am looking to buy a Nakamichi CR-7E. It must be in full working order, and cosmetically tidy. Ideally it should have the wired remote. I can be flexible on things like original manual and box ;)

I am happy to travel to pick up.

If anyone has one, or knows of one that might meet the bill, please PM me.

I'm looking for a machine located in the UK.

Many thanks... :)

Ah yes... the Tandberg 3014/3014A - definitely one of the best decks ever made. But no playback azimuth control  That's what I want from a CR-7! If it weren't for the playback azimuth control I'd be more than happy with my ZX-7 which I think is right up there with the best decks missing this feature :)

I've just spotted one for sale, comes with all the bits 'n bobs too... but its £750! :stalks:

Thanks Mike. I saw that. I must admit that I thought £750 was overpriced. I suspect that the seller thinks that too, given 'all reasonable offers considered'. I'm not really one for haggling. There was a nice Dragon that went on eBay the other day for £620, by comparison.

Worth about 20 pence ;) i'd be looking below £500 for one tbh

You have some in the States (for instance http://cgi.ebay.com/Nakamichi-CR-7-same-CR-7A-Cassette-Deck-/200482813057?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2eadb4f481)

Good luck for you quest, Nick. ;)

Thanks Dimitri. I got my ZX-7 from the States, but I must admit I'm paranoid these days about things getting damaged in transit... hence wanting a UK based machine that I can collect in person - it's less hassle for the seller as well, not having to pack it :)

I understand, Nick. I guess you need to be patient or lucky. :)

In any case, this deck is worth the time spent. ;)

I'm pleased to say that thanks to a kind member here my quest for a CR-7 is now complete, all bar collection. Many thanks for the words of encouragement!

I'm closing the thread but if anyone wants to start a new 'homage a CR-7' in Analogue Art be my guest!
