Contemplating amps for kef 104/2.

Is the quad qsp as good as the 909?

Any experience/opinions on the quad pre/power compared to the quad va one valve amp?

Thanks

The VA-One is a lovely amplifier and very good value but not a wonderful match for the KEF 104.

Thanks for the reply.

any other suggestions for amp up-to 1000 used that would get the best out of the kefs?

I doubt you'd be able to tell the 909 and QSP apart listening to them. Some favour the early British built 909, but I doubt that's important really, they all seem to work. I'd personally go for the QSP, simply because the power button is on the front, fumbling around the back to turn things off aggravates me :). Either choice will be more than up to driving the KEFs.

Can't comment on the other amp options.

I heard the Quad Vena 2 very recently, with quality speakers and leads it sounded superb.

I suppose i could go the audio innovations 500/700 route.
I'd then be back to kef 104/2 ai 700 system i had 10 years ago when i foolishly got addicted to shiny boxes.
It was possibly my favourite sound.
