View Full Version : Being patient is hard
I've been working myself up to buying a new DAC to replace my Bryston BDA-1. Top of the list was a Denafrips Pontus (https://www.denafrips.com/pontus) which seems to tick a lot of the right boxes for me. And then my car died ...... grrrh, so new car (to me - who in their right minds buys a car from new) has had to take precedence. So now I'm going to have to postpone my next Hi-Fi indulgence for a few months. I shouldn't have to take this pain.

It's part of the hobby. I suppose it gives you a little more time to assess your options.

That's true. I guess I'll have to do desperate things like play some music to pass the time.

Sorry to hear about your cars demise, it can be so frustrating when you have look forward to doing something only for an unforeseen event to stop that in its tracks, even if temporary. I had never heard of it and having had a quick read it certainly sounds like a good one for the money, have you found a UK source to buy it from?

Might be worthwhile looking to buy Denafips direct, I thought that was their business model, not via distributors. I think the guy behind WillowTree is the same as was behind LW Audio, who distributed Stereo Knight among other things, so he is a good guy. If the price is the same then buy from him.
I like the response I got from him regarding pricing etc, so good to hear he has good form.

Understand the frustration Rob, waited over four months from a new piece of equipment (test) for the manufacturer to turn around and say they have changed the design and the probe specifications. It was going to take another 6 weeks  plus a small matter of another £3800 :stalks:
We did have a rather interesting discussion regarding a few points of order, which resulted in a loan unit and a probe upgrade gratis, that said it was worth the wait!
It's lovely when it's worth the wait :)
I'm not delaying ... I'm enhancing the anticipation.
