Hi All

A very reluctant sale, but unfortunately a necessary one.

This is a pristine Audio Note OTO SE Phono - it's the current version with the 4 knobs. It's black with gold knobs and badge.

I purchased it around 4 years ago from one of the Forums and I believe it was pretty new when I purchased.

It has just returned from a thorough check and service (High End Audio Repairs in E Sussex - Ex Audio Note engineer) and the Line ECC82 valve was replaced with a NOS RCA.

The other valves test as follows
Line Stage - NOS RCA (new)
Pre Telefunken ECC83 (L) - 75%
Pre Telefunken ECC83 (R) - 72%
Power Output Sovtec EL84 (l) - 75%
Power Output Sovtec EL84 (l) - 71%
Power Output Sovtec EL84 (R) - 72%
Power Output Sovtec EL84 (R) - 73%
Phono Stage Philips Mini Watt (v nice) ECC83 - 71%
Phono Stage Telefunken (vvv nice) ECC88 - 85%

As you probably know, this is an absolutely beautiful amp, I really don't want to let it go, but as soon as things improve, I will buy another.

I do have a wooden create for this, but collection is hugely preferred and advised - I live in E Sussex and will be travelling to Kidderminster in the next few weeks.

I'm no really sure what this is worth, the engineer advised a fair bit over £2k - but i'd be happy to get £2,000 (please PM if that sounds unrealistic)

Bump for an absolutely gorgeous amp.

Don't be fooled by the low power - this amp will drive a lot of speakers beautifully

Cannot believe this is still here. With ANJ’s, Oto’s sound so right! Have a bump on me.

I presume it's only MM, not MC, on the phono. Could you confirm please?

Thanks

They are MM

It’s MM only, however I could be persuaded to part with a lovely Living Voice SUT I have been using with the OTO (cart is Shelter 501 mk2)

As mentioned above I have a lovely Living Voice SUT, which I’m happy to sell with the OTO if you have an MC cart

End of the year bump.

My Living Voice SUT is available to buy with this for MC users.
The Phono Stage on the OTO is fantastic.

Happy New Year to all.

Nothing stopping you if you’re that keen.....

As for “amp for life”, the irony isn’t lost on me :D:D

I'd have bought it myself if it was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks to you I have fallen for AN products but have decided to wait for the model(s) I really want as it's likely to be with me for quite some time.....

The Oto SE is the amp I owned for the longest, about 15 years...

I actually prefered it's sound to the much more expensive Meishu 300b... the 300b's had a nice sound but the Oto was just better in my view..

If you have the right speakers for it then it's a lovely sounding amp.. I would still own mine if I hadn't gone with Maggies...

It's quite surprising what speakers the Oto will drive... I even tried it with the LS3/5a's and was amazed... I would, however, recommend speakers that are fairly easy to drive for best sound... I had great results with Living Voice Auditorium's, at about 94db, but also any of the Audio Note speakers would work very well

This is a later Oto, the one with the gold AN plaque

This is a fantastic amp, a definitive one.

It has driven my Audio Note AN-J beautifully.

Just needs a big space for the placement, since it has a big footprint.

This may sound a bit crazy, but I am an AN fan that owns a level four system (give or take). My younger daughter is an audiophile and loves spinning vinyl on my home stereo. I have always believed that an amp like the OTO can be switched to North American voltage without too much trouble. But...I have never done that. Do you know if that is done relatively easily? I travel to London several times a year for business and would consider an outrageously wonderful birthday present for my daughter. I do love the AN sound. The only downside is that I am flying in from Canada and staying in the St. John's Wood area of London. Would you be able to meet? If that all seems to much trouble, then I understand. But...she has a not so great Rega integrated amp with an RP-1 turntable with Performance Pack and Epos M12 speakers. She is her father's daughter : )

Could we make this work? I may be coming to London in February. I will let you know my schedule as soon as I get it for the next four weeks.
