Hi Martin,

Like all HiFi there is no shortcut, picking a DAC based upon R2R or SD may prevent you getting nearer to what you want from your system.

Two of my favourite DACs are the Audionote 2.1 & Naim DAC, both are R2R but use very different supporting technology.

Ultimately it is what the package sounds like in your system.

Currently I have an AN2.1 boxed in the roof while I use a SD Linn Klimax Renew. Does this mean that I think SD is better? Not at all, but I like the quality, simpicity and HiRes abilities of the latter.

Once I can pick up a dCS Network Bridge for a reasonable price then the AN2.1 will be coming back downstairs; that said I am in no hurry.
