coax drops in and out which is a bit frustrating, but through optical it's fine!
It even plays 24/192 files being fed to it via optical... Or at least it seems that way... Which is nice!
Sounds ok too, it's not the be all and end all of sound quality but I'm happy for my office system until I can get something better ...

Cheers buddy :)

Hamish. That needs modifying

You need to read the looooooooong thread on here about modding that Dac. I have got one. Very good for the money.

I think you will find that you need to do a mod to the chip to get more than 44.1 kHz through it.

It plays more than 44.1 now
through the optical out from my majik it has played up to 24/192

link me to this thread you speak of and il have a look... I'm pretty cack handed don't forget... And it's already not working properly through coax... I'm liable to break it very badly if I try and do much to it!

Theres a few errors on these dacs which compromises performance, I'd only recommend these dacs to the diyers tbh, as is their ok

First things I'd do is sort out the messed up output stage LPF, link out caps on dacs differential output and then update the PLL filter

BTW Hamish the co-ax input socket is total shite, you get intermittent connections causing drop outs so I'd replace it to something half decent, the updated PLL values should also give a better lock on spdif
