Some of Del's latest handiwork... A lovely Christmas garland, using tartan fabric from recycled pyjama bottoms, bits of wood (stripped and cleaned) and cones from the local woods:

Looks lovely Marco, almost spurred me on to get the deckies out of the loft... but then again, nah. (I'm not at home much over Xmas anyway).
I have got a couple of advent calendars on the go, the usual chocolate one & a playmobil one, after two days I have a driller killer xmas elf

Lol - not at all, I'd be pretty hopeless at that kind of stuff, as in putting it all together. I'm ok with some aspects of interior design, but Del's much more creative.

Lol, cheers, Gary. Sadly, you'd probably hate her even more if you saw what she's really capable of! As nice as the garland is, that stuff for her is a piece of piss, and she does it for fun:)
She's got a degree in textile/fashion design, so can use a loom to weave her own cloth, then dye it and make various types of clothes from the resultant fabric, shirts, jackets, trousers, skirts - you name it. She's also designed and made wedding dresses from scratch using her own patterns, and won competitions for knitwear.
And that's not even how she earns a living.... She's a GCSE English lecturer! Oh, and she can cook 'not bad', too!:D

Yes I like home made decorations especially from natural foraged material..In fact Helen and myself went to Moseley Old Hall on Saturday for a pre Christmas treat for Helens mum which included a wreath making workshop. I will post some pics up later.
Yes please do, as it would be interesting to see. Del's always liked making stuff, and I've always liked things (of any description) that are handmade and bespoke, rather than mass-produced - and both of us are into the whole recycled/green thing, so it's a win-win!
I'm surprised though that you thought it was me who made the garland:eek::D

It’s not very festive is it? After all, everyone knows Christmas decorations should be cheap, tacky and, ideally, a major fire risk! ;)

Lol - for maximum authenticity, they've been designed to self-combust at the most inopportune moment.
But yes, she's a fairly resourceful daftee. Did I mention she's also a whizz with computers?;)

Cheers, matey. It's good fun isn't, especially for kids, and gets them out in the fresh air away from their bloody electronic screens!
Mind you, Del's like a big kid herself lol [like me, she hasn't really grown up], and so was in her element rummaging around collecting all sorts of stuff. Will do - in the meantime, here's Tamzin's fused glass robin family that she made at a workshop a couple of weeks ago. She's also done some glass Christmas tree shaped tree decorations which we're waiting to get back.

Wreath now finished, plus Del decided to make up a garland for the porch. Think it came out well, when you consider that every aspect of its construction, other than the birds, which we bought from a garden centre, is homemade, using foraged or recycled materials:
