In an earlier post, Lawrence 001 expressed a liking for van Damme speaker cables.
Can anyone suggest a supplier for these or even post a link for me?
Is terminated preferable or DIY?

Thanks in advance

I have some 4mm speaker cable (blue sheath). IMO a reasonable no-nonsense cable.

I've always gone for terminated :)

2m terminated pair Van Damme 2.5mm Blue here on ebay. It's the last pair this seller has.

I use Blue 2.5mm ones. Very good value and a steal. Another shout for Mark Grant.

Mark Grant is super easy to deal with. Personally, I bought some 4mm Tour Grade Black from an eBay seller (new) and terminated it myself.

The Hifi range is the best cable.
I’ve had Blue and this, so feel at liberty to say that.

ive been using the hifi cable for a few years (4mm),a few months back i went up to 6mm. it doesn't seem to lack anywhere, just a good quality copper cable that doesn't get in the way of the music.

I ordered the blue, 2.5mm.
Should be here tomorrow. Will report findings.
Does it need to burn in before giving it's best??

Some may say no and some may say yes. I say no. :)

I ordered the blue 2.5mm to try for now. Will also try the 6.0mm in the hifi range later.
I thought I had replied to this thread yesterday, but can't find my reply??

I have been advised that using 6mm cable instead of a thinner one, 2.5 or 4mm is not necessary, and you won’t hear a jot of difference.
This from a highly respected cable maker from these parts.
I used to be of the opinion that thicker was better (ooh er matron!) until I made the comparison physically.
No difference at all.

well i can say that in the case of the 4mm to 6mm there is a difference, ymmv.im happy to stick with the 6mm

You did ask for that answer ! Surely it depends as well on the length of cable required. 11 metres plus (which I have in NAC A5) and I'd go for the thicker cable, assuming your speaker/amplifier prefers lower capacitance. My ESLs seem to, as did my previous ProAcs.

I've got 6mm Van Damme Blue sitting in the Garage spares box. I ended up using this https://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/product/66/category/11 cheaper, bigger girth :eyebrows: and I personally think, better performance.
