Here's a speaker that does exactly what it's supposed to do perfectly. I would rarely describe used gear as mint but these are as close as can be. I've owned them about 5 years, and they're boxed with all internal packaging. These seem to retail at £2k now in this finish.

£1100 (firm please) + postage. I'm basing this price on a September ebay auction of a pair of these in this finish at £1405. This puts that sale at £1220 when taking into account fees.

If you wish to inspect & collect you'd be very welcome, I'm 8 miles east of Nottingham.
Thanks for looking.

Ian,

You need to sort out the imgur url, so we can see the image.

I regret Barry that it's not happening. I've posted here a number of times previously with photos but something is not working on this occasion. Apologies for tossing you about. Pl. feel free to delete. Cheers, Ian.

Grant,
What can I say ? I absolutely did not expect to even see my ad. still here never mind with the photos uploaded ! Many thanks indeed my friend . I can only put my ineptitude down to a horribly long and stressful day. Cheers, Ian.

Edit - just noticed you did this Alan - take the above and many thanks to both of you.

Thanks (again) Alan and Vince for the comments. I've not gone for the 'sell' on these, I think they're pretty well known for what they do.

I meant to add I drive from Nottm to Birmingham a fair bit if that helps with delivery - could do collection from the Mailbox in Brum.

I'm fairly settled on speakers at the minute but I've still never managed to hear a pair of these. If I wasn't sorted I'd be all over these especially as I'm local!

Sale withdrawn for now due to an episode of Audio Nervosa ! To explain, I've bought a pair of 40th Anniversary and just can't decide which to keep. What's that line of dark humour 'talk about 3rd world problems' !

The P3ESR are by far my favourite Harbeths.
Jawdrop imaging, simply holographic when well set up.
Excellent detail and transient speed, too.

They are way better than the larger Harbies imo.

Completely agree, but I seem to find myself in the position where I have 2 pairs, 'regular' and 40th Anniversary. Why do we do this ? Life is hell :)

I kind of assumed the 40th Anni versions would be obviously better, but apparently not?
I haven't heard the 40ths.

It's an interesting call Jerry. The difference is more noticeable than I imagined. I think at this level we're into 'different' rather than better or worse. The detail and clarity is astounding, you know, the 'window' thing. But I just don't know if I prefer it. I might start a thread !

Hi Martin, I bought them used. The cost of new was prohibitive to me !

Wobble over, decision made, the Annie's are staying. These are now back up for sale. Apologies for being an indecisive seller !

Probably the most beautiful finish. Prefer these to my rosewood pair! Well worth the asking price. GLWTS

Yes, but it is a hell we create, and because we are so opulent that we can be indulgent.

I was discussing this with a friend a couple of days ago; we compare, and find we hear something we didn't and then can assume, this is better, but a different Freq. resp. will change masking and reveal different things, pulling some sounds into threshold with one speaker, and another with the other.

I don't think that flicking vinegar all over the veneers is a good idea though. :-)

Due to a previous ownership of Harbeth speakers which I picked up directly from the Harbeth factory, occasionally Alan Shaw and I have a chat at shows etc. Last time was in 2018 Munich where he mentioned that the 40th anniversary speakers are not designed to sound any different, simply provided to celebrate the 40th anniversary. So far as I know no Harbeth literature asserts any difference in sound quality.

Indeed Edward, I've red similar. Please don't take my response as an argument, because arguments are for important matters, but I don't believe these speakers to sound the same :peace: I have immense respect t for Alan Shaw, but I have good ears.

Another discussion perhaps :). Anyway, anyone want these fine speakers ?
