Earlier this week a customer gave me a mince pie with me brew. Nothing unusual in that, but it was probably the nicest one I ever had. He said it was a "Heston" jobbie from Waitrose.

We have a Waitrose these days, so we're going in there today for the first time. Might be a bit too posh for us northerners, so I'll wear my smart gear. Maybe I can still fit into my wedding suit. I'm expecting to get in and out of there quite quick, most Chorley folk will be busy queuing outside Farmfoods :santa:

No doubt Marco will be along soon to tell me I should be making my own if I want a proper Christmas.

Lol... So, folks, what are we all up to tonight?:)

We're going to carol service at 6pm, at our local cathedral, just to get into the Christmas spirit, probably walking there (approx 1.5m), just to stretch our legs and get some fresh air, as it's nice and dry. Del likes to look at everyone's Xmas trees and decorations on the walk there, especially all the spangly lights illuminating the night sky, then home to watch The Snowman (her fav Xmas programme and an annual tradition) with a warming glass of mulled wine.

Then she'll be getting changed into her 'Christmas outfit', in readiness for my dad coming round for some drinks and munchies (we're all sharing a large baked Camembert with homemade bread and different types of party food), served with various wines, and where we'll then be opening all our presents - most of which will be hers lol, and she's beside herself with excitement!!:carrot::D

Beechwood smoked salmon with scrambled egg for lunch and a glass of Pinot Grigot.

Later at around 4 'o clock, some Belgium chocolate cake with cream and a glass of mulled wine.

Dinner was roast beef, roast potatoes and roast parsnips, braised celery, honey glazed carrots, and green beans. Washed down with a 2015 Chateau Carignan, Cadillac, Cotes de Bordeaux. Pudding was profiteroles with cream.
