WTD: Old School 60s or 70s Receiver

Wanted, vintage 60s, 70s or very early 80s stereo receiver in GOOD serviced condition, no rust buckets please.

Of special interest are Bang and Olufsen:
- Beomaster 900M or K model with FM Stereo Decoder option preferred
- Beomaster 1400 1967 or 1978 style
- Beomaster 3000-2

Pioneer, Marantz, Yamaha, Sansui, etc.

A decent phono input and tuner is a must, a pre-out would be excellent but not a must.

Budget around £150ish, but would prefer to spend less.

With the greatest respect, you're not going to get much for 'up to' £150. I know this because I have been a collector of exactly this kind of equipment for quite a few years and I monitor the market on a daily basis. Saying that, I collect the higher end, higher power, top of the line receivers. You don't say what power level you're looking for, but I doubt if you'll get anything above 40W per channel for £150. That may be fine by you, I don't know. For example, a Pioneer (one of the most revered brands - and rightly so) receiver from the 60s/70s of about 35/40w per channel will probably cost you £175/£200. And don't forget - as I have found out to my cost MANY times - so called 'fully working' 60s/70s receivers are more often than not NOT fully working in one way or another. IMO, if you want to get a receiver even of a 'decent' standard, power rating, and as you state, in fully working, serviced condition, you are going to pay around £200 - £300. Best of luck, great to hear of someone with a common interest and I hope you get what you want.

Thanks for the input Steve, a lower powered unit is what I am expecting in this price range, a Pioneer SX-525 or 535 for example. Was hoping that someone on the forum had something sitting on a top shelf somewhere. I owned a Sherwood S-7110 and a BSR turntable back in the day, the setup was just FUN and I listened to music on it rather than the gear. Looking for warm, fuzzy and to my mind cool looking again (hence B&O stuff).
