We are listening to it on Spotify now.... not doubt a physical purchase will follow as Agnes is one of the few artists that I would buy without auditioning.

It’s not too shabby.

Listened through once - very atmospheric with that haunting voice. A bit one paced at first listen but I'm looking forward to getting to know it better.
Jimbo, I'll make contact nearer the time, maybe we can have a drink before.

Off to see Agnes Obel at RAH on Monday. She is only playing one night only in the UK and it is the last of her European tour so should be good. I think it was 5 years since I last saw her. She is playing a set list encompassing her best work and a hopefully a few new numbers which I believe may have been played on her other European nights.

No new album announced just yet but hopefully one coming very soon!

Agnes Obel was a real treat playing at the Albert Hall last Monday. The setting was obviously pretty special and having eaten in one of the RAH restaurants I can also recommend that the food was very good indeed. A short walk to my seat and settled down for an experience I will not forget.

Peter Gregson supported Agnes who has a new album out called " Peter Gregson" This Scottish Cellist was a one man band and added lots of synthesized sound to accompany his live Cello playing. Apparently he records his Cello using a mic directly into a synthesizer and then creates all the sound to fill in the background to his music. His new album is excellent.

After the support Agnes came on with three other musicians, a lady playing a Cello, another playing synthesizers and a gentleman playing percussion. She ran through the set list below.

Red Virgin Soil
Dorian
Fuel to fire
Cameras rolling
Laymelli ( new track and fairly heavy on the synthesizers)
Familiar
Run cried the crawling
Its happening again
Faustian Deal ( New track - superb and typical classic Agnes)
Gemini (New track, superb and also typical Agnes)
Philharmonics
Stretch your eyes

Encore

Words are dead
Riverside
The Curse

Screen projections throughout and lighting I believe were done by her husband.

The evening finished all to quickly but it really was a classic Agnes "Best of" concert.

Outstanding tracks of the evening for me were Faustian Deal and The Curse, she really did finish on a high note and received a standing ovation which was a show of massive appreciation from her fans including myself. It has been 3 years since she last toured and 5 years since her last album Myopia.

Her new material was really excellent and showed that she had been working hard over the last few years crafting new music. If these three new tracks are anything to go by I think we are in for another fabulous Agnes Obel album hopefully soon!
