I was interested to find that Ron Smith Aerials are still in business.
Ron sadly passed away earlier this year, but his son George has continued on with the business.

I didn't know about Ron, whom I knew for many years since the mid 70's. I seem to remember that he was a radar expert in the late 40's-early 50's, hence his intimate understanding of radio in general.

I'm glad his business continues and repeat that the aerial world doesn't begin and end with the Galaxie series - the Orion models are really good as well...

Sad to hear that Ron has passed away.
I bought a Galaxie a couple of years ago and dealt with his daughter.
Can totally recommend these aerials... made a huge difference to the sound I get from my Linn Kremlin, especially after indifferent results with a couple of previous aerials.
Sincerely hope the business continues to be successful.

As a guy who has put up some aerials my self mostly for amiture radio stuff those antennas are the most over built I have ever seen.A TRUE thing of beauty (SKY ART).

I would love to see one on a Rohn tower.http://www.rohnnet.com/rohn-80-tower

I had a large beam (Moonraker Ant.) on a 70foot Rohn tower some years back.

When cable TV became popular back in the mid 80's I used to remove for free large antenna towers, rotors and antennas and resell the towers to other Ham radio operators. There was alot of them in rural areas where the TV ant had to be higher than trees and hills so 50 to 90 foot towers where common.
I took down alot of them, very scary work because you take them down starting from the top. Most people where very happy to have them out of there yard as nothing has a lower WAF than a big ass metal tower hanging over your house, but if you wanted good TV that was the price back then.

I love the Rohn 65G
