Morning all. Can anyone see any issues with running a hdmi from the output of one switch into the input of another?

Ive got a projector in the kids room and the only thing they can use it for at the moment is playing the PS4.

if I were to run a long hdmi from the switch in the living room through to their bedroom which is adjacent, they could watch any of the sources there too (I've got a matrix switch so any of the inputs can go to any of the outputs)

Pretty sure I read that you can't. Forgot the reason tho.
I might be wrong..

Oh really Grant.

If I take the hdmi straight into the projector I wont have any sound so might have to rethink this.

You deffo can use an hdmi splitter. That would do.
I do that upstairs to send same signal to 2 tvs.
Ie 1 in 2 out

I'm only really using the switch in the kids room as an audio extractor. It was the only way I could use what I had to get a signal to the soundbar.

All my hdmis in the living room actually go into my TV which has an optical out to my canton dm50 soundbase.

What I'm trying to do is get a separate audio and video signal into kids room without necessity to have anything on in the living room.

I think my living room TV has an arc hdmi. If so taking that to the switch in the bedroom should work but would that mean I then have to have the telly in the living room on?
