Hi I am Adrian

Ive been into Hifi for most of my life as a result of needing to buy a turntable as a kid as my dad bought a music center without one. The foundations of my system goes back to the late 80's when I listened a lot. Then work drove everything else out for the best part of three decades but now I've gone back to it with the time retirement brings (a bit early ill admit). My system consists of Xerxes 10 with a Caspian power supply (newly acquired) Exposure 9 with a pair of duel reg 4's and a pair of Ruark Excaliburs another recent upgrade. On the CD side I'm running a Roksan DP2 with outboard attessa DAC and power supply. Ive just added an Isoteck Aquarius and was amazed at the improvement. Seems like power stuff is not snake oil after. Ive got the bit between my teeth at the moment to get the system sounding as good as I can before my hearing gets beyond the point that I cannot hear the difference.

might play more with power and going active looks interesting if eye watering

Excaliburs, wow. I've actually just sold my Solstices as I couldn't get them to sound how I liked.

So What was the issue and what did you go with instead? I came to the Ex's via the Smaller ones but skipped the Solstices coming from the Accolades. The Excaliburs are really nice and have a very big sound the subsonic waves they create resonate through the whole house. I'm thinking if I want more its going to need to be an active pair which thows up a hole other set of questions.
