View Full Version : HMV Birmingham
I had a meeting in Birmingham today, so took the chance to visit the new HMV Vault store (https://www.theguardian.com/business/2019/oct/11/hmv-vault-europes-biggest-entertainment-store-birmingham) there. I liked it, but it was anything extraordinary. Just a larger that usual HMV in a warehouse style environment. Quiet a nice large range of vinyl available, but pricing seemed to be fairly normal. I picked up a couple of Jazz albums and a CD. I'll go there again, but I'm not sure it's allure would drag me up to Brum just to visit the HMV.
The classical section was small, and I was particularly surprised at the lack of an opera DVD/Bluray section.
Has anyone else visited it?

Well they stock classical LPs and CDs, so it seems odd not to stock opera videos. Especially as there was a Musicals video section

If you commit a crime in B ham the punishment is dished out in hours strapped in a chair listening to Opera ;)
If you commit a crime in Wrexham, you get strapped into Marco's merc with the carfi turned up full:D

The HMV in Glasgow is now well stocked with vinyl , although I think it's a crime to listen to Opera up here
Still got a fair stock of vinyl in my shop lol
Popped into my local HMV the other day to see what vinyl they had to offer. The range of titles had increased considerably, but I could see little consistency in the pricing. Despite the increased range, there was little that interested me - only some '50s and '60s jazz.

Great , thanks for highlighting this Reggie, will pay a visit
You're welcome Phil.
If you want some opera, I'd recommend a trip to Leamington Spa (https://www.prestomusic.com/shop).
