This DAC has caught my eye and I wondered if anyone had heard one and if so what they thought of it...

I have had mine about 2 weeks now, only used the coax input so far, a natural sounding DAC, not too clinical. Much better than my 1543 battery DAC.

I have a Denafrips Terminator. It's a tour de force and does everything very well. Great build too. A real premium product.

The Pontus (https://www.denafrips.com/pontus) looks interesting. Might just be what I'm looking for as the next step up from my Bryston BDA-1.

All their DACs look solid.

Are there any dealers in the UK?

Willow Tree Audio (https://www.willowtreeaudio.co.uk/denafrips) sell them. They responded very promptly to an email query of mine into their price for a Ponus. Their response included:

Three year warranty is covered by Willow Tree Audio.

Delivery time approx two weeks from placement of order.

Please note than prices quoted on Vinshine website do not include Vat and import duty. You will also have to return the unit to china yourself should you buy from them. (If needed)

Prompted by this thread I read around the various Dacs and also contacted Willow Tree. Super friendly guy there. All very tempting. Would love to have an audition of the Terminator. A killer dac?

The Termi is sounding VERY nice playing a poorly records Smith's CD. :).

I generally use the NOS mode but on the odd really poor sounding CD the OS works best.
