I am contemplating moving my Croft 25RS/7 monos on.
They will need no introduction on this forum.
The 25RS has been modified by Glenn with a tube buffer on the line out circuit to facilitate connection to a headphone amp without any loss of performance on the speaker out circuit.

Currently the 25RS is populated by 4 Psvane ECC83’s and a TJ full music 12BH7. The 7 monos also have a TJ full music 12BH7. All these valves are virtually new- less than 100 hours. I also have sets of Siemens and Phillips Miniwatt ECC83’s and Tungsram, RCA, Sylvania 12BH7’s as well as the original JJ ECC99 gold pins.

Apart from a light scuff on top of one of the 7 monos and a respray of the top of the 25RS cosmetic condition is excellent.

They do sound wonderful.

New price for this combo without the headphone buffer is £4200.

I would be looking for something north of £3K

If they do go then I would also have RF Venus and Mercury interconnects surplus to requirements. I used the Venus between pre and power amps and the mercury from DAC to preamp.

They would need collection in person from BD20

Wow you must be moving on to something very special to move these on? Mine are going nowhere. Good luck buddy im sure they will fly . Also new prices retail are £2800 each so £5600 in total so this is a real bargain at 3k

Yes, not an easy decision and I’m still very conflicted hence the interest check rather than offered for sale. I’ve recently experienced a taste of what another amplifier design philosophy can achieve but to go to the next level with it I would need to move these on. For the reasons you state £3K is the minimum I could let them go for - spare valves and interconnects etc would not be included at that price.

It will be interesting to see what youve gone for. I think your price is fair at almost half price and somebody will snap them up . Its an end game combo

Agh - I know the truth of it.:doh:

I am looking to get a Tom Evans Vibe pre and Linear A (maybe Linear B) power amp combo.

I have been amazed by the performance of his microgroove plus 2 phono amp with the Croft’s. Recently he upgraded my Pioneer A300R precision amp (£1200) and the results are quite stunning so I’m thinking I’d really really like the Vibe/Linear A. There’s no way I could afford to buy without selling on some of my other gear and I’d still be looking at a pre-owned pair :eek:
