7C outside. Coolest day so far this autumn. Very bright and sunny though, so it could be nice later.
was below freezing last night.. still frost on the car and sheds.. 2c currently but clear sky..

Slightly overcast just now, but sun is threatening to come out, and it's dry and currently 14C. At 12 noon it's set to get really nice and sunny for the remainder of the day... However, the rest of the week's going to be pretty crap folks, so enjoy the clement weather while you can!

Ah, good man... That's exactly what I crave when returning from foreign hols (unless I had been in the likes of China or India): some SPICE, heat and chilli, so a nice ring-roasting ruby's always the one... Enjoy!:cool:

This last 12 months or so I've been enjoying a few lunches made by Asian customers (must be the weight I lost making me look pitifully starved), and somehow they always taste better than stuff I get from takeaways. In my next life I think I'll be on the lookout for a nice Indian princess :)

Very dull this morning
It's actually been mostly a lovely day in sunny Wrexham (15C), but with the chimney having had its annual sweep during the week, we decided to light the wood burner for the first time in six months, and blow out some cobwebs....

Btw, those are hand-made wooden mushrooms, inside the inglenook (beside the bottle of Chianti, slowly coming up to room temperature) made by a local Welsh designer, in case anyone was wondering what they were.

Reasonably bright here, dry so far too. Just walked to doctor's and back and it's not particularly cold.
actually its just brightened up somewhat. still wet but i can now see keyboead ...well nearly :ner:
Lovely sunny, dry day here in Wrexham, and not cold either at 14C... I'll manage to get the grass cut (hopefully) for the last time before winter, and do some general tidying and weeding:)

After raining all day yesterday it's finally dry, for the moment at least. 14C and pretty gloomy out there. Everything looks really saturated, so I'll be taking the dog out for a squelch round the park later.

Dry at the moment, apparently.
Not here... It's been raining since we got up at 7am (early rise on Sundays, as we go to church at 9am), and it's forecast to continue pissing down until 6pm. The wood burner's roaring away though, so it's nice and cosy, even though it's only 11C outside.
Still, we'll enjoy trudging through the wet leaves in the park, when we get wrapped up and go for a stroll later after lunch. Usually, late afternoon, just before it starts getting dark (as we enjoy that time of the day), foraging for some interesting and unusual twigs and bits of bark, to make some decorations for Halloween and.... CONKERS! Love finding some cool-looking, shiny conkers, as it brings back fond memories of my yoof, playing conker fights in school!:eyebrows:
Then home to warm ourselves by the fire, and have a cup of Darjeeling and a slice of Del's homemade lemon-drizzle cake, before settling down to watch a good film later, and enjoy a nice bottle of vino. Happy days!:)

Totally opposite here this time! Was raining heavily overnight, but this morning it's very bright and sunny, and 12C. Forecast is good for the rest of the day, too:)

Seems to be a recurring theme here of late, pishes down [and I mean PISHES] at night, then dry and bright the next day, which is what it is now, although still slightly overcast, and 10C.
Tomorrow's supposed to be lovely - like a sunny spring day, although of course it's autumn!:cool:

Beautiful sunny day here, but some dark grey nastiness on the horizon. This weather isn't helping my car-boot CD forays though, our local one has cancelled six weeks on the trot now.
In other news, our resident wasps' nest is as busy as ever, thought they'd all be brown bread by now. Yesterday the gardener dragged a ton bag of something past their nest, and one of them punished him in the only way they know. When they finally peg it I'm going to borrow my brother's telescopic camera and have a nosey.
Their nest is in the cavity about 2 foot from my head when in bed, and they make a right old racket at night. If they think they're getting that spot again next spring they've another think coming :(
Was lovely today, lots of sun and not too cold (about 17c) Went for bike ride with son this morning, then dragged both kids out for a walk across the fields - despite much protestation and moaning every five minutes!
Got a log on now though!

Comparatively mild at 13C, but very gloomy and damp. Substantial rain expected apparently.
Bright, dry and sunny here, which is the forecast for the rest of the day, and currently 12C. It's supposed to rise to 14-15C later:)
Yesterday was the same...
My uncle's coming down from Scotland to visit, and we're having a nice meal together later, so looking forward to that:cool:

Got home on Wednesday after just over 2 weeks in hospital, still very week and lacking energy. The stitches come out next which will hopefully improve things, the surgery was a bit more extensive than I was expecting.
Gosh, you've been through it then! Rest up mate, and hope you start to recover and feel better soon:)

Thanks Marco, hopefully through the worse now, one of the antibiotics caused havoc with my stomach but settling down now, just need to take it easy for a few weeks.

It's called 'nice and fresh', just as it is here today (and was yesterday): frosty, but wall-to-wall sunshine and blue skies, and 8C. The kind of healthy weather that makes you feel alive. I'd rather this any day than the stifling heat and humidity we've been getting during the summer months!! :exactly:
Got a load of tidying up in the garden done yesterday (so many dead leaves to clear off the borders), and the grass got its final cut of the year, so it's all looking quite tidy now, ready for winter:

As long as you're properly wrapped up, all is well. When we were in Austria, during December, a couple of years ago, it was -25C (proper cold) during the day, but with bright sunshine and blue skies, and we were nice and toasty in our thermals!

The Forth aint Austria..;) Its a bleak place when weather comes in and it does so damn fast too. Glad I had my Brolly to deflect much of it.. must have been comical to watch a guy on a scooter with brolley in hand headoing down pier

And at least when it's cold, you can always put on more layers, whereas when you're naked, and it's STILL too hot, there's feck all you can do!:D

Ive worked in -25 and a wind chill in a tunnel in Newcastle.. It became impossible tbh as your limbs and fingers just stop working... the air getting sucked through was unbearable at times...
I was well wrapped up but that rain and cold just cut though it when on end of a pier. lol. We were, needless to say the only folk who dared out. and the place was quite busy judging by carpark. think they were all in the club, etc
Interesting about the tunnel in Newcastle! I've never worked outside in really bad conditions, so that adds a totally different angle, too:)
In Austria when it was -25C, we were out during the day, sightseeing, and also when we went up a mountain in a lift/cable car, where the scenery was simply stunning! The -35C was when we went out for an 'evening stroll' lol, after dinner (taking in some night air before bed), as Del and I love walking in the rain or snow, and the snot was freezing from your nose!:D
Lovely feeling though when you returned to the hotel, all red-faced and freezing, then 'defrosting' beside the log fire and enjoying a nice nightcap before bed... What a sleep you got, too! Happy days. We must do it again soon.

was Newcasle underground, but beside the overground part.. so the outside air war maybe half a mile away... Newcastle underground goes outside a lot. it had to be de electrified every night for us to work on. The window was only about 4 hrs a night.. drove up and down every day. was a long slog

..I guess..lol it was a bit tedious tbh. But trying to sleep in digs in Newcastle during day wasnt gonna happen so travel it was. 2 of us so shared the driving.

If your work duties are limited to just patrolling an area looking like a Teletubby (eh-oh!), then super-cold weather can be tolerable, but when you have to actually do stuff where multiple layers and thick mittens impede your work, the cold can be miserable.
The last time I was working in the cold was when we had the "Beast from the East" a couple of years ago, and although it was probably only about -7 or so even with wind chill, I could only work my cordless tools for a few minutes. So after 20 minutes we sacked it off and went home, which is the best way to deal with the cold.
