Hello everyone,
I find myself at a time of life where much has changed and i look back and think how has all this happened, I'm born in the mid 60's and widowed in the last year after nursing my Lady for the best part of 2 years as she fought Lukemia with all her might, along with finding myself made redundant too, so while i work out where next to go in life after feeling like there's nothing like kicking a man while he's down,i can in a small way rekindle my luv of music. My taste runs at the present heavily to Jazz, Sinatre although I'm rediscovering all my original Bowie, Clash, Eagles, Led Zep, Pink Floyd, Who and other 70's through early 80's albums.
I had some Koss headphones as a teen and a garrard 401 TT an Xmas present from a kind Uncle who today would of been called an audiophile although he simply said he liked Welsh Choral music, I never had speakers so everything was listened to through HP's, well thats the long past with all that teenage kit gone but many LPs i still have, I've packed them up and taken them through life even when i had no TT.
So up to the present, my little system which is built from almost exclusively 2nd or 3rd hand gear is almost complete, well until i fully find my mojo again.
Cyrus Discmaster, Benchmark Dac1 HDR, Cyrus Pre X with PSX-R supply, Cyrus Mono X monoblocks, Wireworld Eclipse 6 cables to Kef LS50s for Digital music.
I also still enjoy HPs I have MrSpeakers Ether to run from the Benchmark and Stax LS300 Ltd with matching 353XBK Energiser.
My analogue set up consists of an Atmo Sfera High Edition TT with Ortofon Black Quintet S stylus, into Pathos in The Groove phono into Minute EL-34 tube amp, Terillium Q Black2 cables into ?
Well thats the question really as the Minute amp is only 10wpc I've got some Klipsch RP 600M speakers but I'm considering some Klipsch Quartets instead So i'd appreciate the thoughts of those here as to what i can consider and any views of the Quartets ...
the LS50s are not being driven hard enough by the minute and as the TT is MC i've been told i need 2 sets of speakers and cables as a switching box won't be safe for the kit to run both digital & analogue through 1 set of speakers
If I've posed a question here that should be elsewhere when I'm allowed to post then do please point me in the right direction, however i've tried here to give a fullish picture as an introduction
