Hi
The following valves are some of the rarest and most sought after of their type and TBH were intended for sale on a rainier day somewhere down the line, however, a change in musical direction has prompted me to list them now. They are all genuine, vintage valves, fully and carefully tested on my AVO 160CT and have new or better values; where possible they are also matched. They are not cheap by anyone's standards but I've discounted them by AT LEAST 30% of their value from other online tube sites, in many cases, by much more. Please note that as the prices are already below normal, they will not be lowered further as the listing progresses. Prices are per pair, or single where noted. Please add £5 for delivery. I expect many of them to go quickly but do I have multiple pairs of several. Grab a vintage gem at a better price while you can...

Sylvania 6SN7W metal base Virtually impossible to find, the best 6Sn7 ever? 1 piece £250 (last pair I saw online sold for 850 dollars)
Tung Sol 6F8g (6SN7) ROUND Plates- These are direct subs for 6SN7s, only with a different pin out (adapters below). They have Identical sonics to the uber-rare, rated no.1 by many, Tung Sol 6SN7 round plates yet with even more ‘air’ to the presentation. 3 pairs available £165 per pair

:-):-) Rectifiers yes... 5U4G: RCA, Sylvania (hanging filaments), 'standard' coke bottle Tung Sol (I think- need to check) and RCA 5U4. The 5U4G Tungsol I listed earlier is the most sought after of the lot and cheap at the price ;-)

I'll refrain I am on a USAF-596 mission at the moment recti wise. I have an RCA 5U4G and it is good.
The only thing I think I might be interested in is the 5UG RCA. Can you post a pic and price?
You might be right about the Tung-Sol. I have some NOS 6A3 black bottles and they have a tone no modern triode even gets close to. They aren't hi-fi compared to EML and KR manufactured triodes, but I love them to bits when I am in the mood for the grungy, murky sound they produce. An antidote to modern presentation. I must get them on the tester to see if it's just because they are knackered. To some extent I'd be amazed if they weren't.

Vintage Tung Sol shouldn't sound anything like that! They may well beyond their useful lifespan...Most NOS triodes have a very different presentation to modern KR or EML valves in a Lampizator DAC. They simply don't sound as "hi-fi" and they are easier on the ear as a consequence.
Anyway, I'll test them tomorrow night.

Was it you who also bought the 6f8gs:scratch: I can't remember who's bought what!! If it was, look no further than them- you got a gorgeous looking tube with identical sound to the legendary Tung Sol 6SN7 round plates + more 'air' to the presentation.

Hi Drew....You may recall that I had the Sylvania 5751 3 Mica Black plate and the Herbie tube rings.
Well the have been installed in the line stage of my pre and replaced a pair of same Sylvanias but grey plate also from you..............
The greys were pretty damn good but these black plate are outstanding

Excellent Martin, great tubes indeed- the Sylvania Gold 5751 brand (gold pins) are also worth a try. Very nice indeed. Enjoy the tunes!
