Just a small addition, Jo... An 'SA' would do the same job, which is kind of the modern equivalent. So if anyone has a nice DL-103SA available for sale, then please offer it to her accordingly:)

You'd need to add 20% VAT about £116 and import handling fee about £11. So it will be around £700

I have a SA that I may consider selling if no one come up with an alternative....

The cartridge sports a Wyndham Hodgson Paratrace tip which for me is far superior and elevates the cartridge beyond any other 103 I've owned....

I have had more than half a dozen of the 103 over the years, but haven't bought one in the last 10 years. I have had the GL since 2001, a purchase in Japan. I can't say how many hours it has had but I have not had it mounted for any sustained period. I last tested it two years or so ago and it played without discernible distortion of any shape or form. It was mounted on a Well Tempered.

These things do command a value; I have no idea what you would peg to it. I do agree that US900 on ebay is outrageous.

I know what you mean, but you have to consider (at least certainly in my experience) that a 103SA is as good as some MC cartridges costing three times that amount, if you value what it's about, sonically and musically - and few of them would trump it at what it does best!

It's a veritable giant-killer, and a prime example of only what the 'big boys (such as Denon), can do, through economies of scale, together with utilising their extensive experience and resources. And the GL comes into the same category:)
