Looks like a top holiday Roy.
I've been to Barbados - if you count spending 2 hours in the exec lounge at the airport as being there. Probably not.
Never been anywhere far away. Not likely to either, but if I did it would be on a boat. A big boat

You can put a boat on a ship but you can't put a ship on a boat :)
sampled my first BBC
Well slightly worried at that quote based on some slang “a friend” told me about, but have a fantastic holiday, Roy. :) What happens in Barbados, stays in Barbados! ;)

Downtown Bridgetown. Got the reggae bus in, other half had a row with the driver, thought we were being overcharged but turned out she just got her sums wrong ( got confused between Barbadian dollars and US dollars). He was most offended ‘you calling me a bad man? I’m not a bad man!’ [emoji1787]

A posh reggae bus, you can hear them before you see them, hence the name.

Is this just an elaborate recreation? You're not really in Barbados at all?

Awesome pic, Roy... Much more my cuppa than your shot by the pool! Why would you need a pool, when you've got access to *THAT*, which you can swim in, on your 'doorstep'??:eek::)
Nature always trumps man-made, mate....;)

Did they play any Typically Tropical? Apparently they went there in 1975, and stayed until one of them lost their heart to a Starship Trooper. I bet they'd sound awesome on that sound system.
Great photos Roy, looks like you're having a good time.
OH, still laughing at you sampling your first BBC. Did it hurt?

Very flexible dining hours - 6:30 to around 10 & you can stay at the table after that. We’re trying out the specialist steak restaurant tonight.

And I bet the owners didn't spend much time going to Hifi shows, and sitting there nodding their heads and going "Ooh, if we just change the cartridge to XY model, it'll image so much better". Rather they'll just buy the biggest they can afford, join it all up and make some awesome sounds :D

Not the nicest of places dude, away from the stunning beach areas, is it? In the towns, it tends to look a little 'grim'... Seems to be a common theme in these countries.

It’s about a mile up the road from where we’re staying. We were at a loose end with the weather being a bit crap so decided to go for a walk, we got as far as the kfc and turned back. Will revisit the car museum, that’s only 5 minutes away.
No worries, and enjoy. My point though was that in these types of countries it seems to be the case that the stunning beach areas are almost a 'separate world', and which have all the money spent on them for tourists, but the bits where the locals live are usually rather run down, and often dirty looking/dishevelled.
That's one of the things I prefer about holidaying in western Europe: the towns and cities are usually rather more 'sorted' and look like they're part of the 21st century, rather than a backward third world, not of course that that doesn't have a certain charm, and is still worth seeing.
Anyway, look forward to seeing pics of the car museum!
Marco.

.
I get the impression the locals here like it that way.
Oistins, where we went for the fish fry, was really ‘scruffy’ but had a certain charm. All the locals were happy, well dressed & really friendly.
We’re going to grab an early breakfast and head back into Bridgetown today, hopefully my other half won’t try and pick a fight with the bus driver. [emoji15]

Oh yes, I totally agree!
It's just the gross division between the 'have' and have nots' that's a little disconcerting... It's not quite so obvious around most parts of Europe.

Weighs a ton and a third too. 0-60 time is 16.6 seconds! I don't think Clarkson would be that keen.
It'd be a posing/cruising mobile, though... If I owned it, I'd have zero intentions of driving it fast! Just keep it gleaming and taking it out for a spin on dry sunny days :hotrod:

Not sure if its still there, we went for a month back in 1980, Gary Sobers had a bar / restaurant called "Greensleeves" that was supposed to serve the best food on the island. It was the best food we had while we were there that's for certain, and returned several times, but the foot long centipedes crawling up the walls were always a bit of a distraction LOL. (maybe they were only 6" but they seemed bigger at the time)
The Harrison's Cave guide told us there were Toads down there the size of dinner plates! Pleased to report we never encountered one.
