Hi,

I have for sale Marantz 6200 turn table.

You can find quite some info on these on the internet. Seems to be a classic from Marantz.

This player has not been used for the last 10-15 years or so (we could not find it after moving, so I bought Thorens to replace it; then Marantz has resurfaced - it was on a loan it turned out).
It has been stored in our bedroom (ie not in baking in the loft or freezing in the shed; guess who wants it gone;-)).

I have checked all the functions today and it seems to be all working; however I would say you will need to service it (change the belt, oil etc.)
I do not know what cardridge is installed. Probably something standard.

Also notice that the cover is damaged (see pictures). Continental EU plug.

How about £175 collected from London?

I would prefer not to post it as I have no clue how to post a turn table. If you really want it and cannot collect let me know what your posting ideas are.

Thanks for looking.

No, it is not direct drive.

This is from the Vinyl engine:

The Model 6200 features a two-speed AC servo motor belt drive system, strobe-referenced electronic speed tuning, a precision tone arm with calibrated tracking force anti-skating adjustment, hydraulically damped cueing, automatic return and repeat functions, and low capacitance cables suitable for use with CD-4.

The rubber mat on the platter is impregnated with anti-static compounds to prevent static electricity build-up that can cause dirt particles to be attracted to the record surfaces.

Tonearm: S-shaped

Effective length: 213mm

Overhang: 14mm

Stylus pressure: 0.5 to 4.0g

Motor: AC synchronous with servo control

Speeds: 33.33 and 45rpm

Speed control: +-3%

Rumble: -60dB

Wow and flutter: 0.06%

Platter: 30cm

Platter weight: 0.8kg

Dimensions: 440 x 165 x 350mm

Weight: 8.5kg

It may help you sell it if you can confirm it works fully , hook it up and make sure you have audio from it , this then confirms it is not a project / fixer up TT

Well, last time I tried it the sound was coming out of it. If potential buyer wants to see it working I have no problems with it. It can be demonstrated in my system. However, I think after so many idle years it might profit from a new belt. I haven't done any maintenance on it. With my Thorens I at least check cartridge alignment, put a drop oil in the bearing.

Have you tried it? might be best before someone makes the journey over...

Fair enough. When I placed the ad I checked only the mechanics. I checked the actual sound a year or two ago when I first considered selling it.

Being called to the blackboard today I connected it to the stereo. Listening to Elgar Enigma variations London Phil orchestra ;-)
Maybe should not sell after all...
