An almost new pair of DNM Reson Solid Core speaker cable terminated with Chord Co Z plugs.
I purchased these cables brand new a few weeks ago as a potential solution to a long-standing issue with how my system is configured. My room requires that my speakers sit either side of a 2 metre wide alcove leading into my garden via french doors with my equipment rack located to the other side of one of the speakers. This has required a 5m length of cable to the far speaker to be routed around the alcove skirting board via seven 90 degree bends. I only need just over a metre length of cable to the speaker next to the rack.
I contacted Denis Morecroft to ask if the solid core cable could be safely routed under the carpet directly across the alcove to the far speaker mindful it could be walked upon. He confirmed such use would be fine and so I purchased this pair to see how they sounded with the intention of shortening the near cable if I liked the sound.
I got two surprises (i) just how good they sounded in my system, and (ii) that I had miscalculated the length I would need to reach the far speaker when shaped and fed under the carpet. I was just able to reach the far speaker with the cable lying across the alcove on top of the carpet.
As is so often the case, my internet searches revealed an enormous disparity of opinion regarding these solid core speaker cables ranging from extremely positive to rather negative, however, in my system they worked superbly with amazing natural clarity and detail and I liked them a lot. So much so I ordered a new odd-length 3.25m and 1.25m set to meet my specific requirements.
The new set have arrived and so I would like to move the 3m pair on. For the sake of accuracy, having tried to measure the cables they look to be just over 2.9m in length.
The Chord Co Z plugs (£48 for the eight) are currently screw-clamped to the cables but can, I think, also be soldered.
Asking £75 plus postage.
