Very nice, Roy. Sorry to disturb your thread. If I may ask, what are you using now?

I need to downsize Shane, I’ll be using Goldenear Tritons for now & review the situation when I’m in my new listening room.

Ah so they are yours Roy. I saw them on eBay and have them on my watchlist. 'cos I like watching. :)

Beautiful looking speakers. You have obviously looked after them with great care. Someone will be very lucky! Good price as well.

I am! Have always wanted to try some big Tannoy's, but then got carried away and foolishly bought some that are simply far too big for my room.
Looking at pictures online, it appears that these may have slightly larger cabinets than the much newer 'legacy' version.
Do you know if this is the case?
If not, please can you tell me the dimensions of yours?

Hello Joe. I've added dimensions to the original listing, these are - 39 x 26.125 x 15.25" whereas the Legacy Ardens are - 35.8 x 23.7 x 14.3". So, yes, the proper Ardens are slightly larger ;)

Don't suppose you might now how/if they vary much in their sound? Legacy vs original.

I've not heard the Legacys but did have a pair of DC10Ts which, I believe, have similar DC drivers & they could be a little sharp & tiring to listen to at times.

Quick bump

Few sniffs on ebay, one guy was going to send a 'man with a van' to pick them up, nah.

Would be fine if he paid you cash on collection. I sold something once where the courier (from E Europe) brought the cash in an envelope.

Sorry Lawrence you're missing the point, I won't see these chucked in the back of a clapped out transit. I view these as a precious cargo that deserve to be safely transported to their destination. It would break my heart if they got damaged en route so I'm only entertaining personal pick up or specialist private couriers who know what they're dealing with.

Fair point Roy I thought you meant you were concerned about the PayPal chargeback risk, which is always my first concern when someone offers to send a courier, but you're quite right to be concerned about potential damage to some fine speakers.
