Have you checked your spam / junk mail folders? Email is being processed by the forum fine, but I will check your specific settings to check they look ok.

struth

You might not have selected via email. If not it just goes via the console.
In your settings Check subscriptions are via immediate email

Yes my email is there.

I select immediate notifications by email when subscribing.

I just subscribed to this one to check again.

Is somebody working on fixing the notifications?

Audio Al
06-08-2019, 16:18
I dont think it needs fixing as I am getting all notifications

All I can advise is start again with another email address Orchard-audio and make sure you do everthing by the book

Or clear your cookies / re start your computer and routher , Must be some way of addressing this as it seems you are the only one not getting notifications?

Are you sure they aren’t going into your spam/junk folder? If anyone else is having this problem then please post - mine are working fine as are others, so I am not sure this is a fault with the forum unless others say different?

orchardaudio

Most certainly not going into my junk/spam folder.

I just cleared all of my subscriptions updated my email address and subscribed to this tread again using instant email notifications.

Maybe that will do it.

Often I'm not alerted to new posts in a thread even when I have recently visited that thread.

On some other threads I get notified on every post.

I've tried to see if a pattern of some sort but nothing obvious.

Tapatalk is a useful backstop (sorry for using a swear word), but even that is not fully reliable.

Tech huh! :)

I have tried all settings I could think of nothing is working.

Maybe I am missing something, can somebody provide a step by step on how to get them setup correctly. Maybe I missed something, but seems pretty straight forward to me.

I have tried both by email and through control panel.

In the thread in question, go to top and click thread tools, subscribe to this thread,...

Notification type ...instant by email..
Below the boxes click add subscription.

orchardaudio
20-08-2019, 13:41
Yep that is what I had been doing. I just did it again for this thread.

All the threads show up under subscriptions with notification type instant.

struth
20-08-2019, 13:46
must be your email provider is all i can think...

only other thing that might be an issue; but may not be is in general settings..

Email Notification of New Private Messages:

Receive Email Notification of new Private Messages
Don't receive Email Notification of new Private Messages

not sure if dont would stop subs or not but worth trying if applicible

orchardaudio

I dont have any way of trouble shooting email issues as that is through a third party, I know the emails are not going to spam folder.

There was a default thread subscription setting that I changed to instant, maybe that was it.

struth

maybe open up a separate email with gmail just for this. as i know that works fine....

Edward

Just FYI I did receive any more notifications of new posts in this thread since I last visited.

The email I use for notifications is on a domain I own/control and nothing arrived.

I suspect something to do with the following forum setting that is implied in the following message that is in every notification email.

"There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again."

Perhaps the forum software is not somehow registering the fact of a 'visit'?

I am no longer getting notifications of private messages, all the settings seem fine.

Our admin site expert is again looking at this. But you should also check junk folders as audio al fou d his in there so some email providers are initially classing it as junk.

You might need to white list aos

I can see the emails being sucessfully sent. It looks like the issue is most likely to be at your end - please check any safe sender / whitelist settings. In some email clients, adding an address to your address book, or sending an email to it, helps mark it as safe and avoids it being filtered.
