All you need now are some CD4 records and an X-1 cartridge to play them with. :)

...or try Ambisonics? The only set-up that worked scientifically.
Full set-up included speaker ABOVE you!

Oh yes, very cool - you’ve got to love the ‘Quatermass’ style displays if nothing else :).

I have a quadrophonic SACD and reel tape of The Doors, this is exactly what I've been looking for!

That's a nice looking bit of kit, I look forward to reading about how it sounds.

I notice it has 2 sockets for headphones, how would that work?

There were several 'quadraphonic' headphones around at the time. They all used two stereo jacks.

Used to own a quad system back in day. Was a technics if memory serves. Was great at time.
I've seen one quite like that, was a jvc. You could adjust width and depth of sound as well as phase.
Cool gear

In the book it refers to 4 channel headphones

Last night I had time to connect up a pair of Royd book shelf speakers , turn it on select radio and tune it into 5 live , sounded very nice , signal strength meter works as well , Later today I will connect up a TT through the phono stage and see what happens , Looking promising :)

Cool :wowzer:

You're going to need a large room if you do take 4 x '57

Old memories; I saw the Floyd in Liverpool Philharminic Hall, when they used a 'Joystick' to send the sound around the room-late 60s.

Would that be this night? https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/pink-floyd/1969/liverpool-philharmonic-hall-liverpool-england-33d76cad.htm
If so I’m exceptionally jealous, the man and the journey is one of my favourite sets ever,I once had a bootleg of that night but it wasn’t a great recording,65~72 live shows were much better than what was to come post dark side.

The 'Joystick' was called the "Azimuth Coordinator" by the Floyd. Yes, Floyd in the late '60s - Happy Days.
