I have one Ortofon refurbished SPU Wood A available at the special price of £1150 including VAT and UK delivery. It is to all intents and purposes a brand new cartridge, in a new sealed box, with full Ortofon warranty. The SPU Wood A has the short 'A' shell and does need the additional APJ-1 adapter to extend its length for use in most tonearms (please ask if unsure).
The SPU Wood A is the most heavenly sounding thing - resolutely old-fashioned and very much an SPU but with a purity of tone and a way with recorded ambience/space that's utterly beguiling.
