Hi there!

What do you think of Tannoy st-100 supertweeter? It’d be to go with an Edinburgh. It’s a real improvement? Thanks

If you like it fine, but effective results can be achieved at a fraction of the cost.

I think you need to tell us now.

You can make superteeters that are as good, or better, for a fraction of the cost of the Tannoy design.

Hi
Very interesting. Can you share how to make them or provide a link to an article? I do have the Taskets but not sure of the effect although I have listened carefully - would love experiment further.

Many thanks

Yep, they are ones I’m using. As you say I read they are easily damaged. I have tried them with and without and I’m not sure that I can hear a difference, hence why I would like to experiment with others. Can the bapturs be tested with a multi meter? I guess there should be a resistance reading of some description?

Regards
Bill

Thanks for your comments.
Once again there are different opinions :)
I guess if I want to know it I have to buy it and check it out. :(

And the answer is?

To buy much cheaper supertweeters than the Tannoy version.

Any recommendations?

Don't bother at all would be mine. There won't be any audible content beyond what the standard tweeter will deliver. All those 'high frequency spatial cues' people want to reproduce are way down at 5-10Khz anyway.

But if you want to try it these Bapture are rated by a lot of people and only cost a bullseye https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TakeT-BATPURE-Famous-the-best-sold-Super-Tweeter-set/202446737948?hash=item2f22c4121c:g:tOQAAOSwv~1aLS8 5

I use Tannoy ST-100 super tweeters.
Work well here with Tannoy monitor golds.

I Had the Bapture ST here before and I couldn’t hear the difference.
With these ST-100 you can and can be adjusted to suit.
It’s subtle so don’t expect huge differences, (note the word difference as some will say they enhance and some will say pointless...!)

I have a pair of tandy radio shack in std guise you can hear measure them from about 5k they sounded aweful to me, changed the crossover cap so they work from about 15k. I can measure gain at the top end but sonds pretty much the same to me. Can never make up my mind if they are best in or out. Would i buy again, no
