There is a distinction between 'phallic extension' and 'fanny magnet'. The E-type belongs to the former and most Aston Martins belong to the latter.

Don't get me wrong i wouldnt entertain one of there modern Astons.The last proper one for me was the 'DB6' But i like to draw the line at the 'DB5'. I never liked the E-Types..Rather have something like 'XK150'

A fair price I would say!
I have loved the E type since I first saw one at 10 years old.
When I was 16 and looking for my first car 2 blocks away was a neihbor who had restord two of them one a pastel yellow V12 and the second was the Brittish Raceing Green with the 6 a much older modle but the one I wanted most.The interior was a light tan and all the switches where replaced and some of the wireing made more dependable.
He went to talk to my parents about it as it was just a little more than my budget.
My Mom loved the car and all was going well till my step father a came home and said A Jaguar NO WAY! My freind had an XKE that spent 2 weeks out of every month in the repair shop and kept him in debt for 5 years tuneing carbrators!
It scared my Mom to death and that was the end of that. He was willing to sell it to me for $3,000.00 what he had in it. The car had only 32,000 miles on it. He had a whole sale licence and bought them in an action and worked on them during the week ends.
This was in 1982,That will most likely be the closest I get to owning one.

Don't be ashamed Dimitri, I too love the E-type (as well as the XK 140 and 150 Andre). I also love most of the Aston Martin range. At one time I was thinking about buying a used DB7, but my head ended up ruling my heart: I doubt if I could have afforded to run it.
Still hanker after a good used XK-R or XK-8. :)

The new Citroens look ok it's the old weird ones you could drive on 3 wheels and had a hand crank that never went over very well here.I still see one or two now and then when the moon is full. But they are pretty rare here.
I do like the 2CV though,it has charm.
This car should get the ugly low rider award.

The Citroen DS2 still oozes Gallic style - though with the 'hydroelastic suspension', I have no idea if they are a practical car to run.

Well there is an old man who has 3 or 4 of them who lives near by,he swares up and down a finer car has never been built.
But it's so stupid looking I wouldnt be caught dead in it.
I met him while getting a stereo installed in my wifes car,He was haveing a very expencive stereo put in it. He seems to like Jazz alot.
At 70 or older hes a prety cool old guy but has the uglyest car any where he goes!

Not as ugly as the CV2 surely? Maybe you like your car to look like an up-turned pram, made from corrugated sheet steel and usually driven by hippies and strict vegetarians, with stickers on the rear saying "Nuclear power - No thanks!" ? :doh:

In 1992 I built a DAX 427 Cobra replica that took me three years to complete. It had loads of chrome and slash cut side pipes. That was a fanny magnet. It was also quite gorgeous in its burgundy red. The sound from the three litre Essex was beautiful.
The much rarer Citroen SM is the one to lust after.
