Hi folks
Zappa fans will need no introduction to my username....!!!
For the uninitiated, Thingfish is the name of a FZ album, think un-PC rock opera.
It's up there alongside Zoot Allures, Apostrophe, One Size Fits All and You Are Wot you Is as my favourite Zappa albums.....(though this changes monthly).
Current system...Marantz CD 73, Rothwell Indus Passive, Rotel Power Amp, LS3/5A Speakers.
Brand new Radford STA 25 MK5 due on Tuesday. (after a nine month wait)!!!

Hi Alan
Yes also have thingfish and almost every other Zappa official release.
Nice choice the Radford with LS 3/5a, as valve amps really suit higher impedance speakers. :)
Welcome to the forum
Cheers / Chris

Thanks Chris, yes Im led to believe the STA and LS3/5As make a fine pairing.
Will share my findings once amp arrives.

Hello Alan. Welcome to AOS.
The Radford will be nice when you get it. Tell us if you have any other system changes in mind.

Of course, room for a little 'un!
Not enough space left for 'ample' fans though, and if one came along we'd have to say 'Jumbo go away' :D

Cool - another Radford fan. :cool:Yes the waiting list is long but Will always delivers quality kit.
Which make are your LS3/5A speakers?
Looking forward to hearing your impressions of the Radford.

Hi Ed, my LS3/5As are Falcon (15 ohm)
Not the £6500 special edition ones though, unfortunately they had all sold out...!!!

Is that really how much they are now? That's ridiculous! There's certainly not a lot there in material terms and it's not as if much would have been spent on development, as deviating from the old spec would make them cease to be LS3/5a's.
Falcon uses a Radford STA25 V as their reference amp (so Will informs me). You gonna be in for a treat.

Hi Edward,
Nearly - it was a rebuilt original Series III they supplied for rebuild :)
Welcome to AoS Alan.
We have another "Thing Fish" here (as spelt), so there could be some confusion. But as he hasn't posted for nearly five years I don't think that is likely.
Radford plus LS3/5As sounds lovely.
Enjoy the Forum

Ah! I'll have to have a chat with myself to discuss my memory which failed me here.
