a cold 11c at moment although we were promised some sun later in day. june is running out and not one day you could call warm or lovely

Currently around 12c, just waiting for the sun to break through
Sun trying to get through here but the cloud layer is thicker than on Venus.
And we never got the thunderstorms as promised either. What a rip-off!

Forecast to be nice tomorrow with plenty of sunshine. Just as well, as I'll be doing roofline work for 8 or 9 hours. Nowt worse than gutter shite dropping on your head and up your sleeves :( I might even wear a hat.

Well, the first day of the expected proper summer weather is here... Gorgeous sunny morning, and set to be a cracker! Just about to enjoy breakfast al fresco:)
So here's to a fabulous 4 days of great weather, with tomorrow and Saturday being the 'scorchio' highlights. Get yer sunscreen and mankinis on guys, but protect yer pink bits!:D

Something weird happening here, the sky is a strange colour, it's kind of a deep blue. Not only that but there's a big bright thing in the sky that hurts your eyes when you look at it?

It's been a belter here today. Don't know what the temperature was/is, but I would guess about 25 degC. A gentle breeze to take the edge off the heat, making it very pleasant indeed.
Had a man come round to clean out the gutters, then I cut the grass and did a bit of gardening. Now chillin' out with some Miles Davis on the gramophone, the crossword in front of me, and a nice cup of mint tea: Darjeeling 'Risheehat Special' loose leaf tea, fresh mint leaves and made in diffuser pot. No milk or sugar.

Anyway, it's shaping up nicely now, weather-wise, after a slightly dodgy grey, coldish start... Now nice and sunny and set to get warm. Lots of cocktails and chilled beers will be drunk this weekend - bring it on, muchachos:cool:

Off out brandishing my free bus pass later, got 2 works leaving dos to attend in different pubs, one starts at 5 and I'm reckoning that'll be winding up by about 8 so then I'll wander round to the other one cos I know they're a bunch of p***heads (civil engineers) & will be there till closing.

I know how much you like the great (sunny) outdoors, but given the choice between listening to some tunes on some shit-how-much? systems, and having to slap on the factor 30 so I can enjoy an afternoon of sweating me knacks off over a barbeque, I would choose the choons :) Plus, you'll end up spending more on booze than if you'd come to Cranage and got a round in :ner::)

28C now in Wrexham, just about my ideal temperature, and with a nice refreshing breeze. Not a fan of when it goes over 30C, which no doubt will happen tomorrow.

AOS members generally, and me in particular, are so cool we'll keep temperatures within tolerable limits :) Bit miffed about the cake you're enjoying though, you could have brought me a slice. And by next year it'll be mouldy :(

That's a 1:1 gradient, that would be hard enough to cycle up, but especially in the hot weather France is having.
Can't imagine how uncomfortable that must be, about 25C is my head for the shade threshold.

I don't usually bother so much but I have a house guest arriving tomorrow for a fortnight so it was as good a time as any to give the place a good bottoming (I walked in the bathroom this morning and wondered whose house I was in).

It's just that you said you were thinking of going to Cranage yesterday, so if you knew your mate was coming to visit and you were going to have skinful, I'm surprised that you said you were going to go to the show, knowing that you'd have to get up early the next morning:)
It's peaked here at 28C, so glad we didn't get it as warm as in London! Been a lovely day overall weather-wise, and enjoyed some superb food and drinkies for lunch, pics of which I'll post later:cool:

not to be outdone, I called in to a Tesco on the way back from Cranage, and bought a slice of pre-packed lemon cake as part of a £3 meal deal. The size of 2 oxo cubes stuck together, but quite nice, with some jam in the middle. Not at all lemony though. Turns out I'd accidentally eaten Anita's Victoria sponge instead.
She didn't like the lemon cake so I got myself a 2 for 1 deal there. She thinks I did it on purpose. But it was so dry it stuck to the roof of my mouth and took a giant swig of my orange juice (also in the meal deal) to shift it. Quite lemony though.
Perhaps you were expecting a bit of a show report, but I'll leave that to folk with ears less cloth-like. I sort of fell in love with the Tannoy Kingdom Royals, but at sixty thousand bones per pair I would expect them to make tea as well.

A clean bathroom is a bit of a mixed blessing. I always assumed that I had a bathroom carpet till I eventually decided to give it a hoover. Turns out the "carpet" was just pubes :) The lino underneath is mint, but the downside is that guests no longer go home to use their own toilet :(

Been 30 here all day in sunny Portsmouth, just how I like it... :)
Reved up the air conditioning properly for the first time today. It's a very comfortable 22 degrees in here. I've got an air con unit similar to your's but haven't used it yet as I'm ok with the heat at the moment...
Means I can wear next to nothing around the house which I love...
I have a malfunctioning thyroid and among the many issues this throws up I can't regulate my body temperature properly. When we had the hot weather last year it made me quite ill so I decided to bite the bullet and buy the air con unit.

24c and sunny spells - went for a bike ride with son first thing, then hockey club fun day and bbq - now off to do some PYO Strawberries etc. :)

I didn’t mention taking both of them to their tutor, getting my 5 mile walk in as well as going to the supermarket and of course the usual chores.
I have just got back home, so yes, now going to have an hour relaxing out in the garden with some chillout tunes and a cheeky Shipyard IPA before getting on with the bbq. But not very often! 22:00 to bedtime (usually midnight ish) is my “me time” mostly.
It’s what you get used to I guess - I struggle to sit and do nothing for long anyway, which is just as well! I don’t really find it stressful apart from I hate being late, so sometimes trying to herd the kids out on time can be a chore but that’s the same for any parent I would guess!
Kids grow up so quickly, it won’t be long in the grand scheme of things before they’re leaving the nest so I want to make sure they have a childhood they can remember with fondness and the best start in life we can give them. Plus we all have such fun as a family I wouldn’t want it any other way really.

Oh I totally get that and agree, as we've discussed before (plus respect to you is due), but I honestly don't think I could cope!:eek:
Del and I like doing stuff too, and when jobs need doing we do them [rather than just putting things off - we've been out in the garden for most of the day], and we're pretty organised people, but we also like to have time just to chill, switch off and recharge our batteries, and couldn't be doing with constantly being 'on the go'. Plus both of us need our sleep, and can't function with any less than 8 hours...
Like you say, I guess it's just what you're used to:)
