WTD: Toshiba 2SK150's....

Wanted: The Toshiba 2SK150......

Another request from a friend who's trying to put back an 80's amp to it's original state...not sure what he's asking for...but for those in the cognoscenti will raise an eyebrow...here's his txt...

Hi Don,
The Toshiba 2SK150 is a dual N channel JFet in a 7 pin inline package and I need at least 2 urgently but would, ultimately, like to get my hands on more than that eg 10 perhaps if the price is right.
Whatever you can do.

They are available on eBay from a US seller for £39 each.

Yeah I saw that... A bit rich if you want 10 of them.... Flicking through forums of yesteryear they mentioned this particular part and they were selling for 3 to £5 each!!!
Forget platinum buy these!

Sadly that’s the way of the world with obsolete components. A couple of years back the place I work for had to buy two obsolete ICs to fulfil an urgent order that was needed before our redesign was in place. They cost us £278 each!

As an aside, I’ve just had a quick look on the obsolete components database that we use, to see if there are any recommended equivalents. The 2SK150 must have gone a hell of a long ago, as the site doesn’t recognise it!

No luck I'm afraid....there are some replacement Jfets in the amp, but god only knows why the Tosh's were replaced...? Wanted to get amp back to original state...
